If you're still looking.
-
As redz says dead simple but if you've paid halfrauds to do it i'd take it back to them to get your value for money.

I called lexus and unfortunately they don't do it on a sat at the one near me anymore and the car I was going to look at was sold aswell, there are none that fit what i'm looking for within 60 miles of me on autotrader, eBay etc anymore :'( I just want my new car.

I had superglue all down my door where in a drunken mess i tried to super glue my door strip back on
-
I just had a quick look on 247spares for you rory and they're currently dismantling 37 IS200's so give them a try and i'm sure you'll find what your looking for, I bet it will be cheaper than eBay aswell.
If your not happy with them you can just send them back too.

For less than £12k you could easily get a brand new polo with the 1.4 auto lump at the SE spec which imo looks pretty nice for a small car.
For a similar price you could also get a brand new maxed out Toyota IQ VVT-i Petrol Multi-drive which has combined 60mpg, insurance group 2 and an A emmisions rating so its going to be peanuts to run and maintain.

Thanks for that iceman ive sent you a pm. That sort of offer is another testement to a club I was already very impressed with!
As for the VSR do you think they would do it on a saturday as the guy who's car i'm going to look at works all week?
-
you could ask if you could take the car to lexus for a vsr (vehicle safety report)in most dealers thats free and you will get people who know what they are looking for.
I like the sound of this ormi but how can I convince a private seller to let me do this?
-
I'm looking for a lexus is200 and i've been considering having an ispection done by aa,rac, dekra or the like but what are peoples views on these? Any one used one?
Is it really worth the £120+ or am I better off saving the money and just using common sense?
Unfortunately I don't have any mechanic friends so asking someone to come with me isn't going to happen.

My washers setting options are on/off lol i'm pretty sure it's the height of technology :)
-
Pressure washers can push grit and dirt into gaps that they wouldn't usually go in, more harm than good really. As asi said, take your time and do a good job, it's one of those things that your only really going to do annually
-
it really depends on the condition of the roads but i have to say i used to go at the the same speed round bends and round abouts and it use to be fine. i think its just the tyres
Definately the tyres if thats the case
-
Don't put a hose under thats just a bad idea from the start, the engine bay is pretty small, get cloth and some spray and use abit of elbow grease :)
-
believe they keepthe flow of air in contact with the car for longer?? at least thats what i remember reading some time ago..
Surely that would just create more drag?
-
You can get a much lower milage for £5k, down to around 60k if you look around.
-
Stilll looking willing to look at SE models now aswell and post 2000 models aswell.
-
Had a look and the car didn't have cam change or any service history in the last 25k and the guy wasn't willing to budge on price so I walked away, on the plus side though I got to drive my first IS200 :D
Back to the search though :(

Thanks for the replys people, i'll let you all know how I get on :)

Buy this Clicky
Take the internals and blade out of your old one, stick them in there, wham bam thank you mam.
You won't need to recalibrate anything as the internals haven't changed.
-
I'm also looking to px my 306 aswell so we'll see how it goes, I really like the car but if I can't get it for the right price i'm happy to walk away and keep looking so i'm in a good position really.
-
As the vehicle is over 6 years old and has covered 61,000 miles you need to check if the cam belt has been changed. I doubt the Dekra inspection will check the condition of the belt but if it hasn't been changed then you are talking about a bill of £300 - £400 to have it done by a Lexus dealer.
Cheers mate, already got it on my list of things to check, I hope it has though but as it only has part service history and only just 60k I don't think it will.
Mats On Ebay.
