  1. Can Anyone tell me how to reset the auto switch on the IS200 drivers window.

[*] Window was smashed and replaced by myself but now when press switch for window to go up to top it goes up and half way back down.

[*] Furthermore I have tried holding switch down for 10-30 secs etc to no avail, also attempted to hold it at top, however when I try to hold switch up it won't hold at top for any period of time, goes straight back down to half way.

    Any suggestions ?

    [*]Thanks.

  2. Hi People, i'll keep this short and sweet, someone smashed the drivers side window of my IS200, got it replaced however the automatic window switch no longer works to go up and keep the window flush wihin the frame. It goes up and hits the top where it should stay but comes back down midway, anyone know the reset procedure for this problem, would be greatly appreciative.

  4. Hi People, i have an IS200 SE on an X reg, 2000. It's in Plat Ice & rollin' on 19" Inch Hi-Join deep Dish Style. However been hit by the curse of the Lexus CD Changer, ERR.

  5. Just to let u know, i have just replaced my front nearside wing after months of waiting to get a new one. This has left me with my old wing which is in silver/platinum ice, however around the rim of the arch just above where the wheel fits. It is bent and slightly out of shape and with smalls chips of paint missing, gunna put it on e-bay see if anybody is interested with pics ofcourse. It is by no means in a state beyond repair or very badly damaged however after having it for over a year i fancied treating myself to a new 1. Just to let you know because i know how hard it is to find n/s wings for Lexus.

  8. Hi fellas, please if you can offer your expertise and knowledge to this Lexus driver who is currently embarrased to drive his much beloved car it would be greatly appreciated.

I had my wheel bearing changed on the front nearside wheel about 3 weeks ago due to a thudding noise coming from that wheel and i thought all of my problems had gone. However about 3 days ago whilst having the stereo on quite low i noticed a squeaking rubbery sound coming from the nearside front wheel, then upon driving further even in straight lines the car has begun to make noises i can only describe as squeaking/creaking metal that gets worse the further i drive. A mate said it could be a dry bush and this has since been lubricated but that only stopped the noise for a few minutes and it has since come back.

I have had the wheel off and the car jacked up on both sides to make a comparison and couldn't see anything of any difference on either side, and upon turning the steering wheel no noise was heard. The only thing i did notice was that the screws (that the locking wheel nuts attach to) on the front nearside wheel slightly moved whereas on the front offside they didn't move, could this be a hint to my problems? I could probably do with new front discs anyway, but surely that wouldn't make that sort of noise?

Also i did push down on the bonnet at the front nearside and the car did make a squeaking noise whilst stationary, is this suspension problems?

Anyone have similar issues or any ideas, your help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

  9. Fella's i need the following items, if anyone can help me, i would be forever grateful.

I need a nearside (passengers side) wing and also the mud splash plastic guard underneath it, pref in Plat Ice.

Also need a drivers side A bar pillar cover. In beige please.

    Many Thanks.

  10. Fella's hows it going? Lexus2D i like the brake discs, how much they set you back?

Aztec u mention the Hid kit, u say they aren't a lot 2 do, is that cash wise or is that time wise? Or even better-both?

And does it make much of a difference? I saw something on here where some guy has taken the lights apart and painted the area around the bulb, ring any bells? That a good idea?

Oh and summat else i wanted 2 ask u, i saw a topic on here on how 2 alter the boot spring so that it opens further after adding a spoiler or after time it descreases in opening space, anybody know how 2 do this or have a better step by step guide? I aint the most technical of people although i've ordered a few bits of e-bay for **** i can do/try myself.

  11. Not 2 sure what to do next to be honest with you fella, i've just been doin little things, such as painting the odd bit under the hood. I've been thinkin about maybe gettin the rear windows tinted?? (Any thoughts)

I'm currently in the market for a replacement nearside wing. Mine had a bit of a bump and i'm a bit of a perfectionist and want 2 get the bodywork in 100% condition.

Oh yeah i'm also looking out for a new CD player, mine's got the dreaded ERROR message.

Other than all that i aint 2 sure what to do. Any suggestions?

  12. Aztec My Man, yeah i did paint it silver, thought the basic black mesh looked a bit boring, so gave it a whirl and came up nice, looks a bit different to a lot of the others, thanks to a bit of basic paintng.

    How's it going?

What do you think 2 the suggestion of painting the calipers black instead of silver? And do the decals look a lot better?

  13. Fella's nice one for the replies and compliments, appreciated.

And in response to the question re it being higher at the front, ASI got it right, it's parked on a really bad common land and the rear tyres were on a hump so pushed up the rear.

So lads, you reckon i should paint the calipers black instead of the silver they already are? And what stickers? You talking about the caliper stickers with the "Lexus" logo?

    Any other suggestions??

How's everyone doing?? Been enjoying the sun, cruising in the Lexus'?

  15. Hi mate, welcome to the club...plenty of questions there and I'm sure you'll be able to find the answers very easily. As for the nearside front wing, theres a guy I used who sells on ebay but I cant find his number at the moment. He breaks lexus's so always has parts available and at decent prices. I'll see if I can find his number and give you a shout mate.

Hey up fella, nice one for the reply and the offer of that guys number. Yeah give me a shout when/if you find it. Could really do with a new wing, had enough of looking at the damage to my baby. I'll await a response with eager anticipation. Cheers.

  16. Hello to my new fellow Lexus Owners Club Members.

Little Intro about myself and my car.

I am Carl, 25 from Sheffield. I have owned my Lexus for approx. 3 years and have had many ups and downs with my pride & joy.

I own a Lexus IS 200 SE, X reg, silver in colour with half leather/half suede interior beige in colour. Full service history and only 70k on clock.

No mods really, just the usual alloy wheels, mine sits on 19" Hi-Join deep dish alloy wheels and also a fatter exhaust tail pipe. Also painted extra areas around the car. (Pics to follow)

I've been coming on this site for a while reading the forums and i am amazed by the level of knowledge some of you guys have, and the willingness to share that knowledge.

I'll be honest with you, mechanically i have very little knowledge of cars or how to do what you guys seem to do with ease. This pics you put up to help with the info given is great.

    Right, where to start...

First of all i need a new front nearside wing, and i have gone down all the usual avenues (e-bay, breakers yards etc), has anybody got any ideas on where else i can go to pursue finding one? I also need (think it's called) an "A bar" for the interior of the car, i can see the bemuzed faces now, you know what i mean the bit that gets styled with fag burns when attempting to flick ash out of the window. Don't worry i have since stopped smoking in the car.

After having an error code on my CD player appear, i removed the CD player and rectified the problem but a few months later it repeated therefore i took it out again, only this time i somehow managed to start a mini-fire and burnt the CD's wires making the CD player inoperable, i have seen pics of some IS200's with modified CD headunits. So are they easy to install and can you guys make some suggestions as to which units are best to buy and where from. Basically tell me which units are good quality and good value. I aint made of money. Cheers.

Also if i was to attempt to service (and change brake pads & discs) my car myself has anybody got a detailed instructions on how to do it and what tools are needed?

Thanks for the assistance and also i'll look forward to passing on some more of my enquiries to you guys.
