  1. I have just fitted the 2nd battery to my RX300 within 12 months. I am concerned the battery may be draining while standing unused on my driveway for a period of 1-2 weeks. Since installing the new battery I have checked the voltage after a reasonable journey (12.68v Perfect). If left for a few days the voltage drops to 12.4v, if the key is placed in the ignition and turned to ACC the voltage is 12.2v. I have scanned the internet and believe the battery may be reading a lower voltage due to the cold weather, currently 3C. Has anyone checked there battery with a multimeter and taken past readings when the car is left standing? Would appreciate any advice / feedback as I don't wish to buy yet another battery and need to check why it is draining if that is the problem.

The car is currently starting OK ( used every 3-4 days), just need to gain confidence that my car is not suffering from parasitic battery drain..

    Thanks

    Hi

I had a similr problem the Battery would be flat after a weeks holiday, it was suggested to me that it might be the alarm draining the Battery so on my last holiday I disconnected it and when I returned it started first time.

  2. Hi people,

Basic question... How many mpg do people get from their harriers? I have a 98 model but guess it should be much the same as the early rx's?

I know I should have thought about before I bought the car, but what can I say? It was an impulsive purchase to begin with, and now I can't imagine life without it!!

Hi Sean I get around 18 to the Gallon running around, mine runs on LPG and does about 230 miles on 55ltrs of LPG and its only 50p a litre, dont think I could afford to run it otherwise.

  3. They're normally on the door pillar.

Well they are on my MK1.

Off the top off my head I think they're 2.3bar/32psi.

    Welcome to the club

    Pete

Hi Pete thanks for the club welcome and the info, I just had new tyres fitted all roound and the garage put 39 psi and thought this a little high. Many thanks,

  4. Thanks Colin,

On my way back home from work I put in another 10 litres of petrol. Before the needle was at 1/4th or even slightly less. But then it shot up to almost 3/4th full.

I think this is a common problem. Its just as we thought, the gauge reading is based on calculations and since I am running it on LPG it still goes down but the petrol is actually still there!

Hi mine does exactly the same the petrol gauge run right down (the fuel light even comes on sometimes !) and then needle bounces back up again ! Not to bad when you get used to it. I was told that it does this because when the LPG kicks in the petrol pump still operates pumping the petrol around in a loop.
