hi all ive had my 200 for about 2 weeks now was gona check my belt when i service it but i wasent that lucky and it dident make it i was just on my way home about half a mile doing 50mph and it snaped if there is any lotto winners out there and feel sorry for me please dont hesatate to call!!!!

My old pug 406 did this, it got more and more predominant and the electric windows started playing up. A few weeks later the heater matrix blew its load all over the passenger footwell and got into the electric window system thingy. Not saying that the japanese hardnut is anything like the weasly little peugeot - but have a look around for any damp patches in the footwells and up behind the headunit area.

Presuming the matrix is in that area...?

If you find nothing, then put your mind at rest against it being the matrix. :)

Check the coolant level mate, Behind the radiator there is a black bottle with a filler cap on the top of it with a pipe coming from the cap, it has a clear window in the rear of the bottle, Have a look if you can see fluid in it? A lot of the time it just requires topping up :)

will check that and the other thing was the heating doesent get very hot,does the system bleed its self?

Does sound like you need to top the coolant up mate, try and get the toyota coolant though if you can :)

Sounds like a good service is in order to start with.

new plugs, filter, oil, etc

see if that works to start with.

Does the engine miss at all mate when on tick over or upto 4000+ revs? or does it run quite smooth?

it starts and idles sweet its just when i pull off and sumtimes when i change gear

when i start the car i here the sound of water going around the system any1 know wot it could be?

Does it pick up about 4000rpm?

thats the VVTi helping you out and perfectly normal.

The IS200 isnt a quick car as standard unfortunately.

hi everybody, i was just wondering who the young owners are insured with, im 17 and have a 2.0 03 honda accord.

the insurance is £1500

however changing that to a IS200 goes to around £7000? not sure why thers such a difference in to 2.0l cars

hi i have just got a is200 and love it but there is a problem when i excelorate it holds back then it will pickup is there anythink i can do?is it a common problem?
