  1. Hi everyone.

My 2001 Is200 sport is due its 40000mile service which according to the book is just a oil/oil filter change.

I have already replaced the air filter, spark plugs(since theyve been in for 8yrs!), and oil/oil filter.

Is there any other oils/fluids I should think about changing at this age/mileage?? And specifically what brands/ grades??

I think the car has only had 5 services in its life due to older age but low mileage.

    Cheers

  3. Hi everyone, just wondering does it make a difference to reset the ecu when

replacing the oem air filter with a K&N panel filter. If so how do you do it??

yes it will make a difference matey the k&n is a free flowing filter re-setting your ecu will let the car re-learn the air fuel mixture.

you remove two fuse's or disconnect the Battery.

    Two fuses you remove are:

    take out 20/25amp efi fuse

    take out 15amp etcs fuse

    for 30 secs

Cheers for that will give it a try

  4. Been told Asda are the exception from the rest of the chains, aparently they get theres from Russia, so was advised to put Redex in every few thousand if using Asda.

Dont know if thats bull**** or not, maybe someone can correct me on this matter. :winky:

Yup thats absolute bull cause they get it from the same tank from the same refinery as every other garage. Trust me I work @ the plant that makes it

  5. Just to confirm with you guys that the petrol that is sent to supermarkets is the exact same as standard 95ron petrol in your bp, esso garage whatever. I know because i work at the refinery that supplies the whole north of england/ scotland so dont be put off by the myths that supermarket fuel burns worse etc. The only way petrol varies is from refinery to refinery.
