  1. I have some parts for my IS200 (which no longer exists) due to someone "borrowing" without permission and wrapping around a tree.

I wanted to post some bits that I manage to salvage but I cannot post in the for sale section. What should I do? I know some forums have a minimum post count to post in there but not sure what the rules are for the Lexus Forum.

  2. My bonnet catch has been a bit sticky recently and now it doesn't let the bonnet shut propery.

I opened it, cleaned it and and put some lithium grease on it and it shut but the cable on the release handle has poped out and it appears roughly 3 inches longer than it should be (no tension in the cable).

I opened and closed the bonnet and the same story again. I can't drive the car above 30 mph for fear that the safe catch would give way and I would have a disaster. Any ideas what could be wrong?

  3. Somebody reversed into my car on Saturday and promptly had run off without leaving any details.

Damage is quite a bit and it needs new grille and bonnet. Sorted the grille out on eBay (a genuine sport one again) but no luck with finding a bonnet in 1C6 (Granite Sky).

Does anyone know of any breakers in the South West that has this in their yard? I have rung more than 50 today and tralled eBay but no luck.

  4. Having transited from a Mercedes and having changed the gearbox fluid on it as it was recommended by members on the forum there I was thinking of doing the same to the IS200. I have bought it when it had 96000 almost two years ago but now the car has gone over 130 000 and even though I have no problem with it I think is due a change.

My question really is.. has anyone done it on the IS200 and how difficult is it?

  5. According to GROM in the US yes. I have a V Reg with SatNav and GROM doesn't work but if I disconnect the SatNav it does. I guess it is because GROM emulates the MiniDisc player which was not available with SatNav cars as this took a slot. If anyone knows a way around it I would be grateful.

  6. What size screen is it? I have a few spare from my Satnav projects

yes i have the controller next to handbrake ,have the disk which you can hear boot up ,controller doesnt seem to do anything, screen pops up but stays black ,is there a fuse for power to the screen if so do you know where, how much for a screen its the older 5 inch type, thanks for the help, pete

I have one too that is in full working order

  7. Without decoder, I have standard ones in my main and dipped beam with no problems.

On a side note, it's strange modern cars have multiplex systems to tell you if you have a bulb out. It's good that the IS200 has a brake light failure detector because it's difficult to apply the brake and have a look at the back of your car at the same time. But do you really need your car to tell you why the road isn't as illuminated as it normally is?

Idiot proof motoring I suppose, it's the way of the future.

I suppose its all about legislation. but the one thing I miss about my C class as it had a separate light for a blown bulb where the IS has the same light for handbrake/problems with brakes/blown bulb. On another note so I get this right. Is it the H1 or H4 bulbs I need?

  8. Hello everyone,

I have been reading all the threads so far with regards to installing an aftermarket HID kit but I can find two different types:

    1. without decoders for missing bulb light - Link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Slim-Ballast-HID-Xenon-Conversion-Kit-H1-UK-Seller-/230501487998?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35aaf5957e#ht_4327wt_757

    2. with decoders for missing bulb warning - Link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Xenon-HID-Conversion-Kit-HB4-9006-Decoders-/370410398673?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item563e2e23d1#ht_4904wt_757

Does anyone know which ones are the ones needed by the IS200? Also will fitting these cause any problems with the auto light facility?

  9. Hi, I am having the same problem. I went to Lexus Swindon whom said they couldn't reprogram it. I find it a bit odd as the key worked before and the batteries run out. I used the second key which works fine but have changed the batteries on the original key today (albeit 7 months later) and the LED flashes but it doesn't lock/unlock the car. They advised me to get a new key (at £164.00) but would like to avoid that cost. Has anyone found a way of fixing this problem?

hi,there must be some other problem with it, I have three sets of keys and yesterday noticed that the red light on my 2 button key fob was dead and wasnt flashing or opening the car(last used it about 5 months ago)so just went out earlier today and bought 2 batteries and changed the old one and guess what pressto its worked 1st time.

Just found it a bit odd that's all from working order to non functional. It only been kept a file cabinet and never been knocked.
