Having finally got my 93 LS400 back on the road after an expensive replacement of both rear coils, I have discovered that an 'old' problem has not 'gone away'.
At a constant 50mph, the car starts a violent shuddering which will disappear at 45mph or 55mph. I thought it was related to the low rider look :) that the car had when the coils were shot, but it appears not. Anyone come across something similar?

Personalised using the wifes initials! She has 3 initials and I have 4, so it wouldn't work for me and this way, there are few arguments about just HAVING to spend that extra bit of cash to make the car look good :)
Our 'fleet' all have similar plates, so it is also a bit of a 'pose'.

I'm on my second LS400. The first was a 1990 model which cost me money on brakes and bearings (and tyres ).
Unfortunately after a disagreement with a BT switchbox and a lamp-post, the poor girl was written off. (She was still fully drivable though!)
I then got a 1993 model as a replacement and have done around 25,000 miles in her. To date, the costs have been rear coil springs and brakes.
For both vehicles I've managed to avoid the costly cam belt service so far, but am expecting a "big" bill in around two years time.
The cars are extremely quiet and comfortable, but not such a 'drive' as a our BMW 730.
