  1. Thought this might be usefull - My TomTom sterted haveing some difficulty in picking up sats, I called them and they tried a couple of things on my PC, no luck, they immediatly sent a packet with their box in it for return to workshop which arrived one Friday ( a week ago), the packet to send my TomTom back was their own prepaid special delivery packet, I sent it back same day, Monday I got an email that they had received it and on Wed I received a new TomTom from them, again special delivery.

The TomTom I sent in for repair or check was 11 months old, there was no quibbeling from them such as "You might have dropped it" or any other excuse from them that I might have misused it in some way, absolutely first class, no quibble replacement service for an 11 month old item.

  2. Hi Guys,

Cost wise as i have stated in real terms it has cost me £100 in real cash and if i get 6 months or until MOT out of it i will be happy. I could have raised more cash to buy perhaps a better or later example as this is not really a massive issue and because i really liked this car decided to take a chance. :winky:

Just to add as youve guessed i did buy it l623 PRB

Thats gotta be the best buy ever £100, good luck with it-enjoy

  3. Hi Andrew, I think yours is the one at the bottom, if thats the very dark green or black/green it's my fav colour with the old washinton cherry a v close second, I have the v dark green/black right now,. I had a look at darker colours on eBay and if I had to choose between both the cars below I would go for the £1995 black.

The reason I would pay the xtra & go for the £1195 is, 1) the seller has an impecable, large 99% history since 2007, yours only has 4 in a year so not really enough to convince me to go to an eBay garage, though I would/might to a private seller, 2) It has an impeccable, 100% on time service history and olny 116,750k on it, the '93 has no stated service for this past 40 oddk and that would bother me a bit, maybe he has shown you some kind of servicing things not stated on the add??

Well I can only speak for myself but that would be me only.

let me know if u need help and ill guide u thru wat to do.

Hi Anuj, I booked mine in today just for them to change it, £32 labour, I have no ramp or anything to get under it, only the street, the whole lot will only cost aroud £60, I got a smaller bottle of Havolene (1 or 2 Litre) 5-30 to make up the shortfall and K&N filter, £13 inc p&p, with London prices I can't complain at that and I know whats going in it, personally I think it's best to cange oil & filter around every 5k, thanks

  5. Hi, I have bought my own oil and filter and just paying the garage to change them, but I was surprised when I read in the handbook, P204, that the (my) 1997 LS400 only takes 1.5 litre (qt 1.6, imp. qt 1.3).

Does anyone know if I have interpreted that wrong? or something else I might not understand, I thought the oil capacity would be around 4 litres, needless to say I am not mechanicaly literate :crybaby: - also, thanks to whoever wrote about the 5 litre 5W-30 Havoline from Morrisons Petrol stations, £16.98, I got 5 litre yesterday. I also ordered the filter below, does anyone have any feedback on filters? thanks

  6. Hi guys,

LS 400-In the hotest week of a week ago the A/C button started blinking after starting up and letting the cabin get cool before setting off. After a few miles ( around 8-10) the A/C button light started blinking, I shut it off and statered again a few miles down the road, after another few miles it started again - I thought it simply needed regassing but when I read the manual it says that if the A/C light starts blinking it's the compressor and take it to Lexus, there was a slight smell of what I think is gas.

The only other things I noticed is that it is a bit noisy on the outside when the A/C is full on, as if a spindle is worn and making a sound, the other thing I noticed earlier this week is that although it starts to blow cool it soon enough seems to stop producing cold air - I have used it in on off bursts but I don't want to regas if it's the compressor, so I suppose my question is, does the A/C button only flash on off it needs a new compresor or if it's only a compressor prob, or does it flash on off if it needs regassing? many thanks for any help on this
