so by rights takig it off wil keep it open all the time and increase mpg? boost

i sure i saw a post saying it gave more of an induction roar at low revs with it unplugged,

but the reason want mine out is it seems to be permantly closed so it must be stoppig some air getting in?

hey guys gave my car a little service putting through new oil, filter, air filter ,gearbox oil and cleaned the maf and throttle body

now i seen this butterfly flap thing inside the airbox but it seems to be permanently raised when car is off and doesnt move when the car is revved up...

the car still hits a kind of v tec when it hits 5k revs tho. how do you keep the flap open permanently?

the car is usually cold for the first 20mins of drivin and then picks up to normal temp

as far as i know everything is stock in the engine

last night i drove abotu 30 miles at a local circuit and stopped and left the car running and IT OVERHEATED the slightest wee bit on the dials so atleast i know the dials work but again no fans... i didnt leave it on very long tho, whats the safest temp i can let it go before i should expect the fans on?

iv no idea about thermostat etc? the oil does seem a bit burnt when i smelled and looked at it but the car still seems to be running ok,

how would i check a thermostat?

oil temp sits just under half way until you start driving it goes higher as the belts turning makes the oil guage show higher apparantly

anywhere for a good price on these? dingbro? would these be the same sparks from the mr2 engine? ( just incase the dingbro boy doesnt know what an altezza is )

im basically asking for some info on the fans as they have never came on wich i dont think is right though the heating works fine and the car temp doesnt overheat,

iv put the car through hard runs and left siitting still for ages and nothing it never overheats,,

only thing i can think of is maybe the heat is getting out easier as its a fibreglass vented hood and the car has a seperate oil cooler thus keeping the engine at a normal temp?

time to time mine is exact same wil try new oil n plugs

hey guys i have recently noticed that iv never actually had my radiator fans come one in my altezza rs200

the engine temp never overheats tho even after a good run and the oil temp is always low aswell ( seperate oil cooler on the car )

the air con radiator is burst i know as i can physically see it the original radiator looks fine

the left hand side of the car there is a plug wich i thought had a stopper in it but after looking again it is actually snapped...

any ideas? will try get a pic up but still unsure how to post pics on this forum

why not do what i done and just open up the lights and spray the insides? costs a fiver =)

finally got the gearbox out of the car and got the new bearing in and greased up....

switched on the ignition and...... squeeeeek squeeeek...!!! absolutely ragin =( why does this happen?

as far as i know it does work as under your chairs you have electrics ready for putting in the half leather seats, the electric motors are on the bottoms of the chairs themselves and just wire into existing electrics!

Hi guys for some time now my clutch release bearing has been squeeling in my altezza rs200z but i have been told its a common problem so never bothered getting it fixed although i have a spare bearing to go in, the last couple of days there has been knocking noises coming from the clutch aswell and when slowing down while still in gear great vibration and noise is coming from it now, a couple of forums says this is still the release bearing just getting worse but i hope someone on here can help me out a bit!

the actually running of the car seems fine

ha i didnt mean get pads from the scrappies but i admit my text looks like it... i just mean in general to get parts spare as the local shops cant get anything without saying its a specialist part with a special price you see.i payed 26quid for pads for my lexus but theyre charging 56 for the altezza... and theyre both twin pot so i couldnt see why theyr different price hence wanting lexus pads instead

where are the maf and throttle sensors to clean? ( not clued up ) if youv got a pic it would be great.also wheres a good site to get the better panel filter

as the title says im basically looking to see what i can buy from breakers that will fit my altezza rs200?

everything looks the same apart from engine so im not really sure for instance... brake pads, discs, clutch,gearbox,?

just my local dingbro etc find it hard to source anything for the altezza so dont want to break the bank paying import companies for stuff

iv got the full kit on my altezza and its mega comfy but amazing through the corners... i never fitted them however they were already on the car. the height is fully adjustable
