Oh damn, wish I'd waited. ended up paying just over £80 from my local parts supplier for an ADL/Blueprint item.
Thanks for the links guys, I've a feeling they'll come in handy :)

I've got 3 gone on my 2000W IS, don't suppose you've got a phone number for them.
Just phoned them as one of mine has gone, £98.69!

Yeah, give it a go, I did mine yesterday, only needed to read the manual for the oil quantity and the location of the filter. Probably the easiest job there is provided the filter plays ball. I was lucky(?) as mine wasn't even finger tight and was leaking so good job I did it when I did!

A stunt driver maybe?
Lol, that would explain a lot...

That sucks. Any lasting damage to the car? And how did the Rear Windscreen smash?
Yeah, if it wasn't for bad luck I woldn't have any at the moment. No idea on both counts, the AA guy reckons not engine wise, apart from the switch of course. As for the screen I can only guess that there was a crack in it that we hadn't seen as there was nothing overhead and Elaine was driving fast enough to prevent anything hitting it. Rear demist was probably on???

Bought my IS200 last saturday, but had to let our lass use it for the week as her Honda needed an exhaust and service. Went to pick up the Honda today thinking "Cool, I'll bung our lass in the Honda then just cruise down the high street for some breakfast in my new car". No joy, our lass was late for work so she shot off in the Lex leaving me to pick up and pay for the Honda. 20 minutes later I get a call to say that the rear windscreen has shattered on the Lex and could I pick her up. She told me where she thought she was, which was wrong, so I finally got to her after about an hour of messing about. She was doing her usual trick of sitting with the engine running listening to the radio, only thing is the fan switch is knackered and she'd boiled the car dry FFS!
Fortunately she hasn't buggered the head gasket, but I have to wait 'til Monday to get the rear screen fixed so that's another 3 days without getting to drive my new car.
<_< :shutit:

It's a no from me, compared to the concept car. Maybe the matt black doesn't suit it, I dunno, but no

Had this on an old Triumph Acclaim, there was a ball bearing in the pad material, I kid you not.
Whip the pads out and check them for foreign bodies.

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a passenger side interior door handle, as the chrome has come off mine. Let me know what you've got and how much you want.
Cheers,
Ade.

Found myself a car on Sunday after a day trolling around, saw several dogs, then fell for a car in Blackburn. Jet black, 119k miles with a few bits to fettle. Illegal black tint on the front windows to remove (took half an hour) and a rattley non standard gear knob (took 10 minutes). Other than that there is some minor scratching on the back bumber, some slightly foggy headlight plastic and very strangely, the chrome is coming off the passengers interior door handle.
Had a bit of fun getting to grips with the Sat Nav, which I still need to practice on. Some pics to follow, but I'm very happy so far and looking forward to getting some miles in.

Thanks guys, I picked a car up on Sunday and am well happy so far. Looking forward to driving it, when I can get it back off our lass :)

Never actually met the guy or seen him in concert, but "shared" breakfast with him several times when stopping in the Glasgow Hilton when I was there on business most of last year. There were loads of "celebs" there over the year, but he was the only one I saw eating where everyone else eats and talking with the staff. I don't do hero's but he has to be right up there. Congratulations.

didnt i post you a link to a one last night ?
Yeah, you did and thanks for that, it'll be a struggle to get to see that one for a couple of weeks though. Plus I thought adding a wanted post might flush something out.
Really like the look of this car, especially since it's quite close to me but I just can't see myself driving an auto. I might change my mind following a test drive, but wouldn't want to waste another members time until I was sure.
Cheers,
Ade.

So it's not a chronograph/meter at all then? boy do I feel dumb

Can anyone tell me what use the Chronometer is that I've seen on some models?
Thanks,
Ade.

Dumb question I know, but I've never driven an auto.
My favourite type of driving is, shall we say "spirited" down country roads, so I think I prefer a manual gearbox. However, I've seen some nice auto cars and I don't want to discount them based on something I've read if you know what I mean.
So, is there a noticeable difference in performance or economy between the two types of transmission or am I being overly fussy.
thanks

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for something basically solid, but don't mind fixing things so small dents, average paint or replacing a few bushes would be no problem. FSH is a must as is a manual box and I'd prefer the mileage to be under 120k if possible.
I'm based in North Yorkshire about 30 mile north of York, but am working in the North West/Cumbria area for the next few weeks and don't mind traveling a bit for the right car.
Cheers,
Ade.

i know it may be a distance from you but what about something like this

Cheers guys,
Have to see if I can get across to Brum then :) That gold one looks a better proposition though and a nice unusual colour to boot.

Cheers guys, thanks for the welcome.
when you say bottom end budget how much we talking?Up to £3k tops, which I know is ambitious for a really good car. I'm looking for something basically solid, but don't mind fixing things so small dents, average paint or replacing a few bushes would be no problem.
I spotted this on eBay and wondered how viable it would be to repair it with used bits? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
What does the panel think?

Hi Guys,
I'm a new member from the North East hoping to buy an IS200 soon. Budget is right at the bottom end, but I'm trading up from a Ford Capri, so I'm expecting to be impressed :)
If anyone knows of a suitable car I'd be very interested.
Thanks to whoever built the FAQ and what to look for when buying posts.
Cheers,
Ade.
Rear Axle Questions
in Engine & Transmission
Posted
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what power the is200 rear axle is rated at? I'm in the early stages of planning a build that will include one of the new Ford Coyote V8's and don't want to put in something that can't handle around 450hp.
If the axle will take it, are there LSD kits out there too?
Many thanks,
Ade.
