Woke early on a sunny sunday mornig so decided to get out and clean the beast. After several hours elbow grease listening to the FA cup build up I now have a spotless motor.....well on the outside!
Used the following products all of which I can recommend!
1) Meguiars gold class shampoo
2) Carlack 68 (really brings out the metalic flecks)
3) Collinite 476
4) AG fast glass
5) Meguiars tire gel (1st time use, seems far superior to sprays I have used in the past)
6) Turtlewax nano tech wheel wax
May have to sell her soon if im succesful in a promotion application at work
Cheers

Yeah I would second the rec for etyres. Go to their website, I just had to get a new one to replace a puncture. £75 for a Nexen 215/45/17 but they did have 2 or 3 cheaper budget brands. (I only do 6k miles a year so begrudge paying lots for premium tyres)
Last time I went to kwit-fit and "oh sorry sir we only have the £150 good-years" but the wheel was already off and I wasnt really in a position to say no.
I have used etyres a few times over the years and they have friendly staff, no hidden costs and they come to you after you order what you want, not stuck with what they have on the shelf.

Sounds like a flat tyre to me. Had the same symptoms yesterday and it cost me £75 for a new one :-(
Why are objects always embedded in the non repairable area of the tyre lol.

Uninsured drivers cause so much misery. A fixed, automatic sentence of 6 month in the slammer plus fines.
Well, last night I was watching one of those Traffic Cops progs when they stopped this ASNEM* candidate who was driving without a seatbelt; nor were his passenger (wife) and his young boy belted in either. He was covered in tattoos. He had no insurance or driving licence. They seized his car and crushed it and awarded him 2 months in the clink. When I heard this I found myself shouting "Good!" at the TV.
*ASNEM is the society for those with an IQ of minus 150.
JellyBean, Tattoos do not automatically mean a person is a thug or a moron. Please be careful with your prejudice/stereotyping.

Carlack and Collinite and sum microfibres :-)
Need a dry/non freezing spell to go out and wash and then wax!!!!

Hi, Yeah ive used spotify for months now. A good thing to have playing in the background whilst going about your chores/business. I rarely notice the ads and have often had a lengthy run of songs with no ads at all.

Hi, Ive just posted the below on the installation guide. May be useful in this sticky as I have installed the TOYI cable which may be the resolution to the Iphone 3G charging problem. I know the thread has only mentioned the TOY cable but I saw the TOYI one and chanced my luck. It works fine and has a more recent compatibility list for the new ipods.
"Hi all, Fitted the Grom unit in under 40mins and does as it says on the tin. Hardest part of the install was disconnecting the TRC plug which was fiddly. (the heated seats plugs came out easily).
Just be aware on an LE there is a cover just in front of the dash tray that hides two screws that secure the tray and fans to the dash. Remove these screws and pull the tray assembly free. No need to remove tray etc.
FYI, I purchased the TOYI version and it works a treat. I have a Ipod touch. I think this cable is also compatible with Iphone etc.
Piece of cake I say.
Thanks to all posters on this subject.
Oh, decided to give it a wash aswell as had time spare as the Grom fit didnt take long...just finished buffing the finish and it started raining "

Picking my Grom unit up tonight so will hopefully find an hour on the weekend to fit it. Will post any procedural updates or tips I come across.
Cheers for all the previous posts, pics and tips that have given me the confidence to crack on.

Yep its a bit of a shame the power side of things really.
Had a brand new clio sport a few years back, renault get 170-180 BHP out of their 2-litres (was great fun). you would have hoped Lexus could have done a little better (would understand poor fuel economy if it returned a bit more poke). Like last poster though, its still a good car to drive and the best all round car I have owned.
I thought debait is when you cleaned your fishing hook :winky:

Hi, You do actualy have 8 speakers. What looks like only 2 speakers on the rear parcel shelf is 4. There are 2 mid-range and 2 bass speakers and they are fed seperatly from the amp.
Hope this helps.
Dave.
Edit: Someone beat me to it
Nice one, thanks for the responses!

Hi,
I need to know whether I have the 6 speaker audio set-up or the 8 speaker (with amp)?
I can count 6 (2 on parcel shelf, 1 in each front door, and 1 tweeter in each door column) so i suspect I have the 6 speaker setup, where would the other two be if I had 8?
I have an is200 LE

lol welcome to the fun house ha
i recently got mine aswell and done my oil change... good thing i got a new filter as i had to drill into the old filter to get it out after using many professional tools to take it off nothing could quite get it..
my timing belts getting done this week also and mines is at 67k .. was it hard to open to cover to check it ?
Johnny,
Checking the belt is very easy.
Open the bonnet, remove a few bolts holding the air intake to the radiator (10mm) and remove the air intake plastic assembly. You will then see the top half of the belt cover, using a 10mm socket you can remove the bolts holding this in place (Think there are two bolts at the top, two down the left hand side and one in the bottom right corner. I couldnt get to the bolt in the bottom right hand corner as I didnt have my full compliment of tools to hand to get under the bracket that obscures it slightly, but I was able to open the cover enough to have a good nose at the belts condition.
Might post a pic guide as it really is easy for anyone who has doubt on the condition of their belt.
Hope that helps
Cheers

Not sure why your getting such a rough ride here PJ S, it wasnt you that even made the first mention of money?!? From how I read it it was looking to be a good structured review of 2 rival products rather than a sales pitch. Think we could do with more comparison reviews really.
Thanks for taking the time mate.

I agree that does look pretty good. Shame the centre caps still sport the merc logo...thats a bit naff.
But yeah overall all a really great look.

Anyone else have problems getting on line last night? I tried for ages wouldn't connect to server. Other online games worked fine. :tsktsk:
Hi mate, yeah the servers were down for most of the day and night. Kind of expected it really having a million people online with their shiny new game, the service must be taking a hammering. All should be sorted now though. I was gutted, had to watch the soaps with the missus instead
Apparantly some more servers will be brought online soon and I guess as the novelty wears off over the next few weeks things will improve greatly B)

I used Halfords Advanced Clay Bar and Detail Kit.....worked really well.
Nice one dave1, just searched Halfords online stock checker and my local branch is the only one that has no stock! Explains why I can never see it lol.
Looks like my next nearest stocks the Megs stuff aswell so will go for a detour on the way home.

Hi,
I sent an email to discounts@locuk.co.uk a few weeks back to see if my local dealer (Bristol) is part of the member discount arrangements. I have had no response and would like to become a gold member if its worthwhile as I have a service and belt change due in the spring.
Could a mod or someone in the know be able to progress this for me?
Many Thanks
Hoops
If you phone the dealer they will certainly be able to tell you if they participate.
Hi Dave1,
Not sure if that was meant to be the smart answer ;-) The FAQs in the Gold membership area specifically states to email the discount address.
Cheers

got it monday, almost finished the campaign, played a bit of multiplayer last night. Everybody get the xbox 360 gamertags up so we can get a LOC COD 4 MW2 skirmish on the go.
Unfortunately I have a proper console

Yeah know what you mean, need to explore the maps a bit more, I like using the sniper kit but all the maps ive played so far seem pretty built up and hectic, nowhere to go and hide at distance. Im sure i will soon get used to it.

You dont have to reposition the horns but its a quick easy mod you may aswell do while you have the grill removed. Think there is a guide in the mods section on how to move them, basically you just unbolt them and lower down is a bracket you can secure them to which is out of sight of the grill. The mounting hole is smaller so you need to find a thinner nut and bolt.
Hmmm looks like the walkthrough guide is not available but the pics in this thread will give you an idea....

Hi DamerRX,
Yep just managed to put the PS3 controller down, these games are so addictive when you start working towards the various challenges etc. Haven't even looked at the single player game as I love the online play. Will no doubt be online most afternoons this week. Will keep my laser sight...I mean keep my eye out for you
If your new to the PS3 then you wont regret it. Use mine as a full on media centre, its brilliant.
Need to sort yourself out with surround sound to really get the best of the game.
My gamer tag funnily enuff is hoopdehoop.
Catch you later
