Having trouble with cd changer. Jumps to another track not in sequence after playing one track. Sometimes even jumps to another disc! I know there is a random button which I have tried several times without success. The player plays the discs perfectly. Any ideas? now have a gs430.

hi, i have some experience in radio repair on indoor systems and your problem sounds like it could be the radio itself possibly the amplifier within or a bad capacitor, at a wild guess i would say its probably a dry solder joint because its not present right away.

maybe there is someone out there who could repair it but if not they are about on ebay.

Thanks lexusnice. I forgot to mention that with the engine running the volume fades. If I switch off and then turn key to acc it seems to work ok but turning ignition on without starting sound disappears!!!

Having problems with the radio in my 1993 ls400. Afer it has been on for some time the volume fades and disappears. Also the 2 passenger side speakers have very low volume permanently. I have changed speakers to no avail. Anyone any ideas? It is the pioneer system.

Are they CD-Rs or original CDs? Also are they scratched in any way? Worth taking them out and giving them a clean, or trying some other CDs as well to try to get to the bottom of the problem.

They are original cd's. I have cleaned them and used a lens cleaner disc in the changer all to no avail.

I have a 1993 ls400 with a boot mounted cd changer. It works very erratically, sometimes showing err, other times plays the disc ok but will start at say track 3 instead of track 1. Anyone any ideas?

mine was changed 5 years ago but sod it... i'm running until the belt snaps...

it's a non-interference engine so no damage will be done.

that said, my local mechanic claims he can change my timing belt for less than £200 parts and labour. He claims it's not necessary to strip the engine if you know what your doing.

Might take him up on that offer,
