I didn't change the 4th injector but the problem has not been back since the diagnosis.

Maybe it was just a bad connection.

Looks like it's the injectors.

While misfiring, the fuel pressure is bouncing. Disconnecting the 4th injector made no difference to the revs at all, so it must not have been firing at all.

Will update after I change them over.

Only changed the spark plugs (NGK platinum tip) and put some Redex injector cleaner into a full tank.

I did not change the coil packs.

Alas... the lights and shuddering are back.

P0300, P0301, P0302, P0304 along with a new P0174!

Any ideas?

Just dropped 6 new spark plugs in.

No more codes and the smoothness is back. Will update is a few days after a decent run.

Got a 99 IS200 manual with no mods, nothing fancy, for a while now.

Literally just realised the tax is more than doubling next year (if I'm not mistaken)... DOH! and grrrrrrrr...

I have exactly the same problem with my manual 2001 IS200 :-/

P0300, P0301, P0302, P0304.

To be honest, I am tempted to just go Indie with my trusted mobile mechanic but I think having all the Lexus stamps will help a quick sale which I might have to make in the next 2 months.

Or I could sell it now before the service and mot is due!

Quick question....LEXUS did a 60k service on my 53plate 04 reg IS200 12 months ago...the works...including cambelt etc. I had some grief when i purchased it 3 years ago but they did me proud with a couple of free services (inc the 60k)

The issue is that the 60k was negotiated as part of the #problem deal# and it was done at 55k........a year later and i need the next service (im now on 60k)

Clearly this will be a minor service and looking at the age of the car, mileage etc shall I go independent? I have an excellent garage nearby who could do the job no problemo. At this age and with an inde stamp in the book would it greatly affect resale value??

I'm in a similar boat. Coming up to 80k but 9 year / 90k intermediate service.

Tempted to go with my own tried and trusted indie but I bought it a year ago with FLSH. So I'm thinking it'll be a shame to lose the FLSH... :-s

I've just been quoted for a 9 year / 90k miles intermediate service:-

Wolverhampton - £205 inc VAT

Birmingham - £260 in VAT. (including a "10% parts discount for new customer")

The lady at Birmingham was saying stuff like: but we also change the differential oil and long life coolant etc etc.

Isn't it just a standard servicing schedule???

if it is cast onto the hub its the hub, if its something bolted on then its an arm.

u need to confirm 100% what is damaged - it is the actual hub or just an arm?

It's just the arm.

But because it's cast on to the hub, I am searching for a replacement hub. As far as I know, you cannot just get the arm.

Are you thinking different?

I signed up on a couple of spares networks and had a few quotes for a 2nd hand hub.

Cheapest to date is £90 from a Dave in Brum.

Some were trying to flog me the wishbone instead of the hub.

First post in unfortunate circumstances.

Pulling up pretty slowly into a friend's drive and slid/spun on ice doing a right turn. Side/back impact on the left rear wheel only with the far curb.

It's knocked the wheel and tyre, pointing it to the left. A friend, who knows much more about cars than me (not difficult), took the wheel off to assess the damage. The only damage he could see was the front cast arm has bent, which has taken the hub out of line.

He maxed out the adjustable parts on the other arms to compensate. It's now not crabbing nearly as bad but the tracking is still out - steering wheel left by about 5 minutes to go straight.

A few questions:-

• Is the rear hub the likely root cause?
  
• If so, how can it be fixed - must it be replaced or can the one arm be heated bent back (at risk of snapping)?
  
• Where could I find a cheap 2nd hand part - I cannot afford the £300+ (excluding labour) I'm being quoted for a new hub.
  

Model: 2001 IS200 SE, standard.
