Yes Acer it was easy to replace.
The unit I got from eBay had the plastic back plate attached and just popped in.
Seem to remember the lugs for the heating element were over sized and I just cut them down with a snips to make them narrower to match the width of the crimp on the power supply wires.

On my 400h I got ebay
There was a video on youtube how to change it, Just used a screwdriver and old t shirt
Pushed T shirt behind glass and worked it around and used T shirt to lever it off.
Seem to remember you start at the bottom and work up.
heating element works fine but no auto dimming

yes I believe the existing mic is up behind the mirror.
I think the Grom mic is only used for voice to txt on the phone, where the lexus mic is used for the voice commands on the rx.
The screen menu came with a grom update about 18 months ago.
I use the grom Bluetooth is used for streaming .
Odd though Navigator satnav for android plays the voice through all the speakers and pauses the stream, but as far as I remember Google maps for android just comes out of the Front Right speaker. Both

from grom audio
It works grand.
I use podcasts on my phone through Bluetooth and they auto start when I connect to the grom.
It was simple to install just removing the 4 screws on the ML head unit and plugging in the adaptor.
The USB songs show up on the existing display but can take up to 30 seconds to show up. Could be the songs metadata, Doesn't bother me.
Never used the aux but the socket is there.
when a call comes in it uses the existing lexus Bluetooth which means all the steering wheel buttons work as expected, and the grom knows to pause.
The Grom + Bluetooth unit + Aux fit nicely under the ML Head unit. I brought the USB over to beside the Boot opener switch and took out one of the blanks.
The Grom didn't effect my air con

I tried to change the LED on the unit above but could not get it out.
So I cut it between the Zener and the LED as I couldn't see a way to change the LED otherwise.
On the back there are 3 connection points so I changed the resistor to 475ohm
As I had a pack lying around, I soldered a http://spiratronics.com/superbright-5mm-waterclear-led-blue.html to the large terminal and the one on the resistor.
Tested it and put it back together.
It works fine and the Blue LED gives out more light.
However the viewing angle is rather narrow, which means I have a 6" spot of intense blue light on the carpet. A different LED would cure that.
Loads of LED calculators on the internet to select the correct resistor for the LED. 2 or 3 leds in series should give more light.
Don't forget to check polarity prior to assembly.

Took out the passanger amber LED today
The light slides apart and exposes the LED Zener and LED
The resistor is 750 ohms which seems a little high but would lead to a long life.
The LED is soldered in and I was thinking of changing the LED itself to a white one.
I dont see an obvious way to get the LED out. Perhaps after de soldering it may be easy.
Perhaps the 8vDC i mentioned above was measured when the interior lights were dimming and I would treat the supply voltage as 13.8vDC
The LEDS i mentioned above were like https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0018S093Q/ref=s9_hps_bw_g201_i3 except they were 1 inch diameter and i got 10 for the price quoted now but that was 7 years ago

I know what you mean, been thinking of changing to LED too.
I had to change cigar lighter fuse last week and noticed them.
I put a voltmeter on the 2 wires feeding the black housing around the orange LED and it read 8vDC.
I was surprised but may be worth double checking before you purchase.
I was using one of those fluke hand held AVO meters- doesn't go to 1 decimal place
In my last rx300 I put in patio LEDS which were about an inch in diameter and 12vDC.
Bought in B&Q in a pack of four, looked quite nice. easy to wire to Lexus blue sill lights

I removed my old CD player which was working perfectly and replaced it with a pioneer double din head unit.
This is good as I got the bezel from eBay and it fitted perfectly.
I also have sat nav and Bluetooth steering wheel remote and a reversing camera in the pioneer unit.
I wired it all myself and it does require an 8 core cable put in to the amp under the back seat.
Total cost for bits around £600 plus a couple of hours labour
Maybe this is the way to go for you.

Just bought this Mk2 rx300 recently,
Cant find anywhere to put coins / little things that I used to put in my ashtray in my old car.
I have the big centre console box with 2 can holders which cant be closed with coke cans in situ.
There are ashtrays in the back but not in the front
I have the big box behind that for the cds
Judging by the size of this console there must be a lot of space under it
Is it possible to alter this and drop the height of the can holders.
I have the factory alarm so I dont have the sunglasses holder overhead
Where do you guys keep coins.
Am I missing something?
Thanks
Maurice

I had a similar sound from back wheels recently.
I thought it was the brakes and when the motorway was empty I accelerated and braked slightly aggressively a couple of times, primarily to test the brakes.
Noise went and fine now.
I rarely use the handbrake but did use it on a car ferry which created the problem.
I believe the rear brake calliper got stuck and it released by itself.
