  1. i agree with the filter tests, lol the soft foams are good but not as safe for maf fitted vehicles. least restrictive is soft multilayer foam, ran a huge trust greddy intake ,mounted behind my grill straight off the turbo and spool was immensly quick just had to avoid huge puddles and bad rain lol

  2. thanks mate well just purchased iriduim plugs and a blitz panel filter be here on monday woohoo, and i will do away with the air box flap, see how i get on may also reset the ecu and give it a good run and see if my idle issue is any better. :winky:

Hi well my cars been in an alarm specialist for a whole day, trying to fit cobra alarm and immobiliser with ultrasonics and proximity, but they say they are struggling to get it to trigger the central locking when alarming and disarming the alarm? they are gonna try using my standard remote to alarm and dissarm as this is the only way they think it will work properly.so if my remote goes tits up am buggered i guess,? any one know an alarm or solution remedy? :crybaby:

Its just i have the filter sitting here thats all, if i never had the filter i would buy a pannel filter today lol, i want that pipe lol, how do you go about disconnecting the intake control flap on the air box, what do youdo with the solenoid and vacumme lines to the diaphram etc? would apexi sell the pipe seperate you think? i dare say it would be quitehard to source ?

  5. hi i have an apexi power intake air filter only with flange, is it possible to make this fit my rs 200 altezza and is it conpulsary to get an adapter for the ,maf sensor, is there a way round it? where could i source the adapter? cheers in advance guys.

HI thanks for the reply mate yeah sounds like either tps closed position switch off is out of range or either lambda heater circuit has failed as when its cold its ok weird. al get it on a diagnostic tool and check dtcs and current data but as i say dont really know these cars that well, plugs sound like a plan defo up for irriduim upgrade.

HI well cleaned the airbox, throttle body and butterfly and maf sensor the car runs bit better and goes bit better, but when hot it still suffers a slightly unstable idle at around700 rpm and u can see the gear knob bobbing intermittantly almost a splutter, any ideas, diagnostic check or plug replacement or iriduim upgrade lol

  8. cheers pal good info, its just i have a nice apexi exhaust and a spare apexi power intakew ands wanna know if i should or not lol mite just sell and get a panel filter as the stock intake seems to have a air control flap and knowing toyota it hasa reason for this wheather its mpg or power its there for a reason who can clear this up for me why its there?

Hi, well tommorrow gonna clean the throttle body and buterfly with brake clean and polish it with maintanance spray, how do i go about cleaning the maf, ya all the expensive mods done its genuinely immaculate and genuine svc history all pdi paper wrk n receipts inc the receipt for the ws apexi muffler with sound test etc and all toyota reciepts for the trd handling mods including front and rear anti roll bars shocks n springs n under bracing front and rear handles better than a new m3, its like a new car. wanted the aero grill but this grills sell for good price so not sure what ill do, also got an apexi power intake filter but not sure if its worth fitting may just get a panel filter n new irriduim plugs n syntheticoil change for good safe measure

  10. hey thanks for the reply spoke to toyota near me they said they dont get involved with imports, *****, also spoke to the importer and he said if i find someone to strip and replace the seal he will pa providing its not hundreds of pounds and that way i dont have to use my warranty he said. just hope its a seal thats available so i dont need a rack. as he will not pay for a rack he said unless used or recon.

HI WELL GOT MY PERFECT ALTEZZA BUT HOWEVER IT HAS THE EVER SO SLIGHT LEAK OF PAS FROM THE STEERING RACK GAITER NOTICED IT TODAY WHILE IN THE RAMP CHECKING IT OVER JUST TWO DRIPS OR SO, SO DO I TRY FOR A RACK UNDER MY WARRANTY I WAS ISSUED BY THE IMPORTER OR BOOK IT INTO TOYOTA AND TRY GET THE SEAL REPLACED? AM STUCK AS I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE ALTEZZA MODEL IS THE RACK ON MY RS200 ALTEZZA THE SAME AS A IS200.? ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED. IS THE SEAL EASY TO REPLACE THE ONE NEAR THE TRACK ROD UNDER THE GAITER BOOT?

HI, thanks for the replies guys and yes will try clean the t.body and maf sensor.terzza3.jpg bad pic but the car is stunning clean as hell low millage is like new, its got trd sportivo suspension kit including the huge a/roll bar kit, apexi exhaust system, greddy oil temp guage and recorder control unit, trd oil cap, tv,sat nav sard rad cap, crazy underbraces and the handling is immense

  13. hi guys just got my rs200 altezza z edition on friday very very happy with it, only idle seems unstable slightly when hot, it idles almost perfect on roughly 600 but if you watch the gear knob you see it bounc and the engine rpm slightly fluctuates. i am a mechanic i know its obviously not an air leak or anything severe but just wondering is this normal and whats the fix ? regards in advance!

  14. No one ever said Altezzas where fast :blush: Although once you get them wound up over 5K they go alright.

    Basic mods to start with after the air filter would be some Iridium spark plugs (NGK or Denso). Upgrade the earthing system. Clean the MAF sensor & throttle body. Replace the gear box oil with some RedLine MT-90 & diff oil with some 75w90 or 80w140 fully synthetic. Put some fully synthetic 5w30 or similar grade in the engine. Basically after doing all this it'll make it run like new again & maybe gain you a few HP.

    If you want to get 240bhp out of it, you'd be looking at replacing the ECU with something like an Apexi Power FC, some mild cams, headers & possibly ITBs. Then swap the OE dual mass flywheel for a solid lightweight aftermarket unit from JUN or TRD.

    You could go silly with a stroker kit but you'd be better of spending the same money on turboing it IMO.

    Unfortunately there's no cheap 'n easy power upgrades for these things.

    As for sourcing parts there's plenty of places on the net that'll ship direct from Japan like Nengun, JPS & ACNZA

    TezzaWorld & Altezza Club are two good forums you should have a look at to get some ideas.

    Don't forget to upgrading the suspension as it's well worth doing. Then you can enjoy the increadable chassis these things have to the fullest.

    thanks for all that input guys, al get the breathing mod apexi filter n exhaust then al give the car an all over service, wax oil the under side and clean it inside and out, then learn how it handles and adjust accordingly. i have a lot to think about now lol will keep you's updated once i pick her up. also do i need to run high octanne fuel since its jdm 99r vpower for eg.

  15. Like Yeldarb said you'll definitely get a louder exhaust. You may regret it if you have the 3SGE as they can become unpleasantly noisy very quickly with the wrong exhaust mods.

    As for power gains that all depends on what condition the cat is in. Personally I'd save my money & spend it elsewhere on the car.

    Also pod filters are more trouble than they're worth on these cars. Just get a hi-flow panel filter.

    ok well after basic breathing mods, what other mods are a possibility with out tubocharging or supercharging, i just feel it may be bit slow for being 210hp and weighing 1300kgs, my first car was 260hp per tonne starlet gt was stupid quick kept up with fq330s etc, i just wanted a more practical relaible nicer looking car so i chose the altezza, but know nothing about modifying them for power output! any help appreciated, are there any specific sites or registered traders that i can talk to to obtain parts?

    Either way you will probably need an O2 simulator. You should get a BHP gain, you will get a louder exhaust :P

    MPG may be affected but not much.

    HI ITS THE 3SGE 210 6SPD, WELL I HAVE BEEN TOLD ITS AN APEXI SYSTEM RELATIVELY QUIET, I AM REALLY NEW TO THE ALTEZZA AND WANTING TO GET AN IDEA OF HOW MUCH POWER WOULD BE ACHIEVED USING APEXI POWER INTAKE MOUNTED BEHIND H,LAMP DECAT AND FULL EXHAUST ETC, I UNDERSTAND CAR TO CAR WILL VARY BUT IS IT POSSIBLE TO ACHEIVE 240PS FROM THIS TYPE OF MODS IF THE ENGIN IS HEALTHY ETC. IF THIS WAS STARLETS I COULD TELL YOIU ANYTHING LOL THANKS IN ADVANCE MATE

  17. HEY GETTING MY ALTEZZA ON FRIDAY AND WONDERING IS IT WORTH DECATTING OR NOT, WHATS THE POWER GAINS AND WILL IT BRING ON THE MANAGEMENT LIGHT ETC. WILL I STILL GET ROUGHLY THE SAME MPG IF DRIVING NORMAL?
