  1. My engine management light came on, I know a porshe garage owner who put it on his diagnostic machine and fault code P1651 came up. He could not tell me what that was (only Lexus can) but he told me he had taken the engine management light off until I could get in touch with Lexus, but that it could come back again. However when we started up the car the VSC and VSC off came on, but no engine management light. Can anybody help on this? Thanks, Lester

  2. Hi I posted the same problem 4/5 months ago I changed the wheels and my yellow tyre pressure light on the dash is on permanently, it does not bother me but it looks like someone could tell me how to fix it. please could you forward it to me on cartshed@tiscali.co.uk.

All the best, and thanks a lot, Lester

  3. Hi, just browsing and see you found a way to take off the tyre pressure warning light. I have just changed my wheels and the fitter broke the sensors so the light is on all the time. Can you help please, Cheers Lester - email address cartshed@tiscali.co.uk phone 01832 720334

  4. Hi, I have just had 4 new wheels on the SC430 (I did not like the 'Frisby' wheel hubs) and the fitter could not get the pressure valves off the old wheels, so as you can imagine the orange tyre pressure indicator on dash is on all the time. It's not a big deal but does anybody know how to take it off. Cheers Lester

  5. Sounds like the solenoid rather than the starter. Assuming the starter is the same/similar to the GS, the solenoid can be refurbished for around £10-£15 in parts, plus the time to remove and replace the starter.

For the overhaul, there is a ling in my signature to a tutorial I did. If you have a look in the LS sub forum, there are a few posts about the starter and the V8 engine (and what a b*tch it is to get out) along with the odd tip for the job.

Cheers for the quick reply - are you saying the starter motor has to come out to repair the solenoid switch - Lester

Yes, it would need to come out. If you have a look at my tutorial, and the location of your starter, you will see why.

Thanks for your help, apparently Lexus told me to get the starter and solenoid out, the exhaust manifold has to come off but my local garage (not Lexus) did not fancy the job and explained the solenoid functions and turned the ignition key on and off quickly 10 times without starting the engine and explained that this will clear the solenoid points (as I do not use the car regularly). Am now using the car more and the problem has not happened again, does this make sense to you? Cheers, Lester

  7. I have 53 plate SC430 29,000 miles. When you turn the key the starter motor sometimes just clicks, and the next turn of key will start. This is getting more frequent, sometimes 2 - 3 turns just clicks then starts. Lexus have told me it ants a new starter motor, 4 hours labour and new starter £450. Is there any test my local garage can do to check this out. Thanks Lester

  8. Hi All, just a minor problem with my SC430 (on '52 plate 30,000 miles). Just occasionally from cold I put the key in to start the car, turn to start and it will just make a 'buzzing' sound, then I move gear shift, take key out then its OK. It sounds like perhaps the immobaliser is not making contact, but nothing on key ring to upset it and it has a new Battery. As I say it only happens occasionally - any ideas? cheers Lester

  9. Hi,I have been a porsche owner for the last 10 years andhave just acquired a beautiful SC430 in red with gold motifs, a '52 plate with only 30,000 miles on the clock. I love the car, comfortable, head turning and quick, is there a LOC SC430 branch?? and is there any members near me PE8 5SG near Thrapston, Northants, Cheers Lester

  10. The answer is yes, and if you put your deatils of the one that is there into the site that Parthiban gave you the link it will tell you and it's 159 euros and it's a 2009 one.

Thanks for the reply, I did this and an error message came up 'no product found with that disc id '- am I doing something wrong?

  11. You'll need to look at the number on the face of the disc, and then check HERE to confirm whether there is a later version available.

Thanks, I don't want to take the disc out in case it upsets it but I have an invoice for the last disc that was put in and that is Sat Nav CD rom L08927-50872. Would you know if this is the latest or if there is a later one. Look forward to your reply, cheers Lester
