  1. HI Guy's,

I'm getting a very faint sound at the speakers with volume all the way up and need help!!!!!!!! The radio worked until i needed to make an emergency stop and then nothing. I later switched on the radio and sound came back till i braked heavily again and then it went again. Now what i didn't know was that although i had a leak into the boot (from the plastic panel right after the rear window coming loose)was the amount of water in the wells in the boot it was like a pond with it's own tyre at the bottom!!!!!! I have taken away the rear panel to the petrol tank and woofer and can see a box with pioneer electronics on it, is this the amplifier? as moving the wires have no effect to the volume. Also the wire loom on the hinge of the boot seems to be intact so no real worries there? I also removed the facia that surrounds the cd changer and again looks fine? Now we all know that you need sounds to appreciate the luxury of such a beautiful car hope you can help!!!!!! :tsktsk: :crybaby:

  2. Hello and welcome to the LOC.

1st thing is did you connect the battery the wrong way around as the Lexus batteries have the +ve and -ve terminals the opposite way to most batteries so easily done.

In the engine compartment fusebox (passenger side infront of the coolant reservoir) remove the lid ( 2 plastic bolts) and check carefully the 120A fuseable link which is the main cause of your symptoms after battery problems.

If this has blown only replace with the correct type and rating.

If the fuse is OK please let us know as we will try and offer further advice

Hi Steve2006, thanks for the welcome and yes the fuse has gone, now for the tricky bit, how do i remove it without breaking anything? Will need all the help i can get from you guys to get my baby on the road!!!!!!

  4. Hi Guy's I'm new to this and too my Lexus LS400 1992 'J' reg. When I first seen the car it ran perfect except it needed to be jumped as Battery on the car was too small??. Since then the car has failed to start and when it did there was no lights, no radio, no dash illumination the list goes on. I replaced the Battery with a heavy duty Battery from Izuzu and now the car starts. However there is still no electrics except the horn and the hazards light switch though no hazards!!!! Can any one help as to where to start. I have mechanics as friends but as you know when you need help they always seem so busy!!!!!!
