I'm after a gs300 mk1 sport grille
Doesn't matter what colour
Want one to improve the looks and get rid of my cracked and scratched standard grille
Has to be the sport grille not the chrome type
-
sorry to ***** on your bonfire but
i had a problem with my gs300 mk1 NON sport
the barrel refused to let the key in
i managed to get the ignition switch off and bodge it so i could use it till i got a new one
so on eBay i managed to get from a 1996 gs300 sport a complete steering colomn and lock set with a key and an alarm fob for £30 (bargin)
i never got a fob when i got the car so i though great this is a bonus
i fitted the steering lock and got a local lock smith to sort the barrle out so it fitted the old key with the chip in for £60 (bargin again)
now this is all fine and dandy and the car starts and locks with the original ket to save getting the car and key reprogrammed
after searching i came across this post
i tried everything to get the fob to work the alarm and keyless entry but it dont work (gutted)
question is ..does the sport have a different alarm system or keyless entry to the NON sport?

both of my bottom sliders are seized
i got the drivers side today
now i need the passenger side
-

its the carrier that holds the pads with the sliders in
it was the slider that was seized

im ordering the facia and the pocket but need numbers for the brackets
i understand from the friendly toyota parts bloke that there is nothing listed for the lexus gs300

Take a look at this topic I did a while back. There are part numbers for genuine Toyota items Clicky. I think there are genuine Toyota brackets also, but haven't bought those yet as I made my own.
ive heard i might need to change the side brackets too
any ideas

Any on got a mk1gs300 or aristo sport grille

can anyone help with finding a radio panel
i have taken the standard radio out
i want to put my single din radio in and cant find a radio conversion panel for a uk right hand drive
all i find is left hand drive panel
someone must make one
you cant be telling me that all the import aristos and cars that are right hand drive all keep the standard radio
can anyone help
i have the wiring sorted with the use of other peoples wiring colours (thanks to them big time)
-
When I still had the factory head unit in mine, I used a griffin thing that transmitted the ipod to a frequency to tune your radio in to. Worked pretty well especially if you don't travel wide distances. I did find that I would tune it to a frequency in Basingstoke and by the time I got half way to Derby that frequency was used by a radio station in a different area, so I would have to change the griffin frequency and retune the radio occasionally.
ive just got my gs300
ive used tigerfish guide he helped someone a while back telling what wire colours on the standard plug are
and soldered an iso plug to the wires
that way i can put the standard radio back
then got in the boot litrally and soldered wires from the white plug to the orange plug to bypass the amp
removing the amp and cd changer also the standard radio and parcel shelf sub (massive weight saving)
then plugged my kenwood radio with ipod attachment and run wires for a bass box and amp
the standard speakers sound much better with this set up now

No mate, I must've worded my reply above wrongly. The key has the imobiliser transponder (or whatever it is called) built in. The remote for the locking/alarm etc is a seperate 2 button fob.
cheers dude
i will give that a try and see if i can find a 2 button fob
by the way i love the look of your car
-

cheers
paul
