  1. There was a us brand Navtool if I well remember that did a plug and play ecu for the is300 (same as 2001 onward  is200 with external amplifier) to reach your goal. I made extensive research on this field for many years. I also made some attempts mixing japan Altezza system with european is200 one. One way could be to fit the japan tv tuner that has a video in plug where to connect the rear camera that could be activated by gearing reverse if I find the way to wire the japan tv tuner to our is200. It's not clear yet if to have it working I need to have a japan screen a japan navigation a japan amplifier or a japan radio head unit or a combination of them. I'm making some tests on it.

  2. Have someone of you an idea if jap tv tuner can be wired on a european car? I mean I did it on my 2002 is200. But I had no luck. European remote controller has a off button where the jap has the tv button. Switching off the screen I could notice it doesn't turn off literally, but just switches to a black screen, so I guessed it just switches on the line where tv signal is addressed by the tv tuner. I have wired it to the screen where the jap version is wired, but nothing. I admit I didn't passed viao the fuses box where there's a blank space for a fuse with written TV. Then I ordered a jap radio from a tv tunered car, but nothing, I then ordered a japan nav unit, with no different result. So the question is: Has jap system a different nav screen where something receive the controller signal to switch on the tv tuner? Or is it into the nav box or the ampli or the head unit? Did someone of you made some search about it?

Would appreciate some advice. I disconnected the plug from the amp and used the bypass cable to connect an aftermarket head unit. For some reason the clock and light for the clock panel stayed illuminated even when key switched off and car locked. This drained the battery in no time as the radio stayed live too. Is this because I didn't disconnect both cables from the amp? Or is there something else wrong?

When I reconnected the amp and put the lexus radio back the power went off with the key and no battery drain. Please help as I cannot get a replacement lexus unit and have no cd or tape so have to rely on the radio which is not good.

    Thanks

Hi, have you fixed now? What oem lexus radio model do you need?

Sure Jason_L or someone on here did the same swap, it was the pre September 2000 cars I believe that had the manual passenger seat - think mine was a Sep 2000 car and that had the facelift with both electric.

It's just a case of getting an interior from a breaker and think Jason did the wiring himself, can't remember if the loom was there - there's only four bolts I think so if you pop the existing seat out you could check to see if the loom is there or not.

Just don't get an interior from an S model as they're both manual!

Hi hope you can help me. I wish I could fit the alcantara/leather seats instead of full leather. I read about wirings, seat belt catchers etc. Is it possible to add wirings and motors from the later to the early seats and to add the controls on the side?

    Thanks

  5. Hi there I have a 2002 lexus is200 with oem sat/nav system whose remote controller have the off button that turns off the screen and send an unknown signal to the (if I well remember) 1 and 4 pins on the six pins plug on the navigation unit. I also get an altezza nav controller that has a tv button instead of. Is it for headrest monitor or turn it the tv on the nav screen when the tv tuner is connected? in first Altezza model the tv button was on the radio and it seems to be logicl, couse the sgd and pbk connectors are on the 5 pins plug on the radio itself, but in the latest model it is on the controller, but the 5 pins plug is still on the radio. Moreover first models have both integrated or external amplifier, while latest have just integrated. If someone here has altezza tv/audio/navigation wiring diagrams from 99 to 2004 models it would be greatly appreciated.Another great option would be if someone let me know who in the forum is the expert on this topic.

Thanks to all of you for any help

  6. That socket is, I believe, a cd changer connection.

Pinouts here (at the bottom of the page). Ignore the 6 pin connections (and probably the wire colours).

You'll get quite a few google hits with 'toyota 12 pin audio' or similar

Ah, yeah, you're probably correct. The pins I labelled above should still be correct tho, these came from a wiring diagram supplied by the Altezza dealer. Hmmm, tho the diagram does label the connection as TV Tuner...

Will let you know how it goes as my research continues...

Thanks for the links & info.

I sent you a pm about the wiring diagram

    Thanks

  7. Hallo there, voice microphone kit is no more a secret and it works fine, but what about the 6 pins connector on the nav ecu? Is it for the rear view camera, or what else? And is 8 pins connector uasble for something else than microphone?

Someone of you knows which is the right oem external cd changer for the is200 and where it has to be fitted in the car?

Last question, do we need the altezza radio to switch to tv?

    Thanks

  9. Hi there, I opened the navigation screen box and could see on the electronic board an unused four wire plug... It really seems a touch panel 4 wire plug. The problem is I can't recognize if there's a touch panel controller over there. And in case of positive response I don't know if it can drive any type of touch panel or need drivers. It depend on the operative system. Anyone of you knows about it? My conclusions are that if they placed there a 4 wire plug it could be the same board as gs300 7" screen or in alternative If someone there has a touch panel from the gs I could try to fit and discover if it works... I also have the voice command system from Toyota/Lexus Japan and would be great to drive the nav with voice and touch.

    Any help is welcome. Thanks

    Pietro
