  1. Sorry for the late reply.

Its a last generation Prius. The light on the reversing camera makes a huge difference.

Does anyone else with a 2007 Rx400 have a light on their reversing camera or was this introduced in later models?

Hi Ajay, I've got a 400H 07 plate and there's no light or illumination on the reversing camera.

The reversing lights don't give any kind of light strong enough to illuminate on their own either...

  2. Not sure you will be able as yet to get side/running boards to fit RX 450h - Had set on my RX 400h ( purchased from direct 4x4.com at cost of £194 ) which I had removed when I replaced vehicle with 450h - was hoping these would still fit this new model - unfortunately not - 450h has a plastic skin covering underside of vehicle - hence to fit brackets holes would have to be cut ! - this I am told by my Lexus dealer would invalidate the vehicles warranty - understandable I suppose. I have been in contact with supplier of boards, and as of yet they do not have an answer as how to fit without cutting holes. Hence I have now a set of boards for sale on ebay !

Hi Mick, I've recently upgraded to an 07 400h and am looking at buying a set of the running boards for it. How easy are they to fit? From what's been said on hear it sounds like there's no need for any additional drilling as all the bracket holes exist on the 400h - is that right?

Might be easier to get a dealer to fit them as I don't have any ramps either.

    Appreciate any advice!

    Cheers!

  3. I went the Grom Audio route. Just do a search for posts i've made and you should find installation instructions. Pretty easy once you know how to take the centre dash area apart :)

Anyway, it's brilliant. Works with the iPhone too. OK so I don't get track info being displayed but the info comes up on the iPhone screen anyway. Added bonus is that the steering wheel controls also work.

Check it out and just post back if you have any queries.

    Cheers Normski, that looks quality!

  4. Hi there,

Just taken ownership of an 07 RX400h SR this morning from Lexus Coventry and I have to say, the customer service levels are excellent.

I was trading in my 07 IS250 Sport and had 4 of the Coventry team dealing with me throughout the process. Great trade-in price and impeccable service for picking up the RX - from the full valet, full tank of fuel, to the 24 months warranty (due to high mileage) and 24 months roadside assistance.

I can't speak highly enough about the team there - my local Lexus dealer is Chester and they're pretty damn awesome too!

    Initial thoughts on the RX:

    * After the gadgets, keyless entry and ignition of the 250 I was trying to manage my own expectations... but the RX is a joy to drive, excellent handling, with the upgraded multimedia kit, full leather and sat nav.

    * I'm based in the North West so still trying to figure out how to achieve the best fuel consumption - I only managed 26mpg average on the M6 - however, I was bombing along a bit...

    * Amazingly quiet - can hardly hear the engine and the cabin quality is brilliant

    * Driving position is great and power is quick and punchy once the right foot is planted down

    Couple of questions:

    * I want to get ipod integration so what's the best option - Lexus own or other? And where's best to get it fitted (in North West)?

    * Parking distance assistance is something I want to get fitted - is this an easy fit for a dealer and how much am I looking at?

I can't compliment the RX400h SR enough at this point, it's pretty damned impressive!

I have a 55 plate 400. My local car audio specialist in Worcester fitted a Dension Ipod attachment to the Lexus ICE system. Cost about £250. All the Lexus controls function the Ipod, but the display does not show track information. This is due to the Lexus kit, not the Dension. Your 07 car may have rectified this. Let me know if you want further technical/product information. Regards Linehill

Awesome, thanks Linehill - I'll look into that!
