  1. Hi,

Does anyone know how to take the steering wheel tilt motor apart? Mine has stopped working, I took it out and sprayed electrical contact cleaner into it and it started working again for a few minutes, then went back to making a gravelly sound.

Does anyone know how to get the motor apart? I think if I can clean it out and re-lubricate it then it will all be ok!

    Thanks

  2. Hi,

I've just finished installing a Pure 300Di into my 2007 Lexus GS430 and thought I'd share, as various places said it was impossible when really, its quite easy!

I didn't take photos along the way, so this isn't a how to. There where a couple of things I was trying to achieve with this:

    1) Ipod and aux input, with either on screen control, or a separate screen. CD Changer type playlist control wasn't good enough.

    2) Decent sound quality, so no FM modulation

    3) No cutting of factory wiring

    4) DAB (least important)

This LED me to use a Pure 300Di to give me a screen to control the ipod, as well as DAB and a GROM Audio Aux input to get the sound from the 300Di into the ML headunit. Note that despite what GROM told me, you do not loose the standard DVD changer by using the unit, when you press disc it goes to the DVD changer first, then if you press it again it goes to the GROM.

Not cutting the factory wiring was achieved by piggybacking the Pure 300Di's power off the GROM unit. In a nutshell the GROM plugs into the back of the nav unit, then I tapped into the GROMs ground, 12V Battery and 12V switched wires for the 300Di, meaning that if I remove the GROM, the 300Di is removed as well.

The wire colours for me GROM unit where:
    Black - ground

    Red - 12V Battery

    Yellow - 12V switched

BUT please check yourself with a multimeter, there is no reason why another GROM unit couldn't have a different layout!

I'll report back once I've done some more miles with the setup, but for now I'm happy!

  3. Hi

I need new tires all round on my '03 GS300 and the alloys are not in the best shape so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and get a set of alloys with tyres of eBay. I've seen a set of 4 16 inch alloy wheels from a 2009 IS220d but have no idea if they would fit!

    These are the wheels:

I've done some googling but got very confused with offsets and all sorts of things!

    Thanks

  4. Hi,

I'm considering LPG converting my IS250, I have done some searching but can't find any information specific to the IS250!

Has anyone converted their car? Which kit did you use? My main concern is if I need to have flashlube installed or not? People converting the GS300 seem to be using it, but the LS430 does not need it, anyone know for sure if the IS250 needs flashlube?

Anyone got any good installers around the London, Southampton or Hull areas?

    Thanks

    Tom Reay

  5. Hi,

I'm in the market for a Lexus LS430 with an LPG conversion. Will consider most cars as long as its been well looked after. Can promise to give your car a good home!

Want to spend around £5-6k, though might be tempted to pay a little more for a facelift model

Let us know what you have!

    Many Thanks
