  1. Hi peeps

I no longer require the following items

    Black IS200 sport grill

    IS200 amplifier

Anyone fancy swapping for an aftermarket amplifier

    Please reply here

    Cheers

  2. I understand completely. The primary reason for changing from IS200 to ST220 was merely for the rear leg room. I didn't really wanna sell the Lexus but it made a lot of sense. Therefore, I wanted a motor that was big enough for the kids and an additional passenger in the rear (i.e. my brother as he doesn't drive yet). the only option I really considered was a Mondeo and as I felt I was 'down grading' I thought I'd go for the best variant possible hence the ST220.

    I don't generally say 'I've got a Ford Mondeo' it's more 'I've got an ST220' a much better response from non-car lovers. B)

  3. Thanks Guys,

I am about 6ft 1 tall, and it is a question of if I have the seat right back then I am reaching for the steering wheel, but if I sit closer my head seems to be very close to the roof lining. My wife says it feels uncomfortable, but in the passenger seat it is ok, and as she has "borrowed" the car today (do'h) then I can't really check.

I will try this evening, maybe, move the seat back and lay back a little with the front up as suggested. It is not too bad. If it is I could always upgrade to some racing seats although I like the leather look at the mo!

    Gary

Surely you could just lower the height of the seat? I'm 6ft 1 too and my head's nowhere near the roof lining. If you push the forward/backwards button down it should lower giving you more room above your head :winky:

WTF!!! Why are we replying to a post that's 6 years old?!?!?!?!

  5. Hello

In the next couple of weeks I'll have my TEIN basic coilovers available for someone to purchase.

I've had them almost 6 months but I've decided to return my IS200 to the stock suspension. Still within the 12 month guarantee

I'd like to exchange them for some cold hard cash.

    Any offers???

    Rob

    Ever Been Fitted ?

    Any Pictures Too ?

If you're willing to pay £2300 I'd even given you my IS200 SE Navigator. 109k miles Astral black with full lexus service history, MOT til Feb 12 and Tax til Apr 12 :winky:

  7. I'm sorry to say, I think I need to sell my IS200!!!!!!!!

Never thought I'd see this day. Sadly, it's just not big enough to cater for me and the family.

I had to refuse taking my brother home the other day because he couldn't fit in between my two kids booster seats. Maybe I should tell the fat git to go on a diet?!?!?! ;)

Anyway, does anybody have a rough idea what I should/could sell it for?

It's a 1999 SE, Astral black, 108000 miles, K&N panel filter, TEIN coilover suspension, TTE front bumper, new battery (a month old), Kenwood single DIN CD player with USB port on the front.

    any ball park figures????

Your help would be much appreciated

    Thanks guys

Sorry I was also supposed to mention it's the navigator version, it comes with 3 keys (2 x remote), full lexus service history and every single MOT certificate.

Surely worth more than 2 grand???

  9. Well apparently my car is 10mm lower at the back than the front. But due to the possibility of adding weight in the boot or on the backseat it should ideally be 10mm higher than the front (It makes perfect sense but that's what I've been told)

what are the chances of this issue being rectified to some degree (excuse the pun)if the rear is raised by a total of 20mm from the height its currently sitting at?

    Ormi & TommyH - Thanks for your advice/help B)

  10. i don't mean to hijack this thread but...

I've replace my suspension with coilovers and I've now got quite a bad camber issue on the rear!!! Why?? I went to a local specialist and they said It's because it's too low. When the coilovers were fitted the guy who done it said he had dropped all 4 corners to the same height (60mm - i don't know where he's measuring from. Is it measured from centre of the wheel to the arch?!?!?!)

Has anyone else had this camber issue when fitting coilovers?

The specialist I went to gave me a geometry print out that really needs sorting.

Does anyone know a reputable WIM type company around Essex or London?

My tyres are starting to suffer and I can't afford to replace them every couple of months.

Hope you wonderful guys can help ;)

i have that problem mate but i lowered mine 100mm at the rear but to be honest my cambers not that bad...4 deg...if you get someone that knows what theyre doing then the camber can be bettered....the problem is you run out of adjustment after after 40mm.....

you can buy new adjusters from the states though

    Cheers Ormi

Any idea how much they gonna cost? Can you make any recommendations regarding a supplier?

  12. I'm in need of OSF brake caliper. What price can you give me?

Hi, what year is your car and could the caliper be rebuilt?

    Andy

All I know is there's fluid leaking from the back of the caliper. My local tech has phoned Lexus in Rayleigh, Essex and the best price they can do for the whole unit is £330 inc VAT isn't this a bit steep?

    it's a 1999 SE

  13. hi

a few months ago I took my car to a local ICE installer. The original Lexus HU was knackered so I opted for my Kenwood that I had in my previous car.

I didn't realise at that point you can buy a loom for the IS200 and I had contacted a few other local ICE installers and they had no idea what was involved. Anyway, I settled with the guy that had 'experience' with IS200's assuming he knew exactly what to do.

He then cut the wires that originally went to the amp and reconnected them to a Ford loom (which I still had connected to the Kenwood) He also tried to mug me off where the Sat nav is concerned, luckily I was still on his premises when I checked it all out. He ended up making some little circuit to connect to the Nav which still works (cheeky bugger tried charging me £100 for that circuit alone!! Needless to say I told him to Jog on!!!! )

Since then, I can't have my stereo particularly loud as it cuts out for a few seconds. The whole unit powers off and I have to wait for it to read my CD/Mp3 player again before the music is restored.

What can I do to rectify this? I was considering putting a sub and amp in the boot but fear I'll just make things worse!!!!

    Cheers

  15. Hi

I just thought I'd try to find out if anyone had heard of flyeyeskit uk ???

I'm attempting to make the rear of my car (an astral black 1999 IS200 SE) look a little less dated with a low budget.

I have no idea how it's gonna turn out so I may well post some pics after I've sorted it.

Your comments will be much appreciated.

    Cheers
