  1. I have recently changed the two wishbone's on my 96 Ls400 I bought a pair off eBay, after I had them put on the camber was well out so much that the car was always trying to kill me I have had the camber altered but its still not right but a lot better at least I can drive it now has anyone else had the same problem Steve.

  2. Cat C or not its a good buy. period

Its a lovely car and if you didn't know it was a CAT C you would be really pleased BUT it is and so is not worth anything like what its advertised for that's the problem.

If you don't and the car is ever in an accident the insurer will know the car as been a cat c and this will effect any payout you receive you may also have trouble insuring it fully comp for the same reason, as for do you declare the car was a cat c they can soon find out if it was Steve.

  3. I wouldn't touch this car for that price, it's a cat c, you guys must remember this car, a guy in Devon was selling it before, I remember this car well, he sold it for £1200 in the end due to it being a cat c

I have to agree it is a CAT C and is only worth half of what ever the market value is and I don't mean the price this seller is asking yes its a nice car and you will probably be very pleased with it but at the end of the day a CAT C is not worth full price sorry Steve.

  4. I would never consider converting to LPG as I would probably never get the money back on my mileage. However, I really don't worry about the cost of running a Lexus, mainly because my wife's car (Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 Litre Diesel Turbo) uses so much fuel that mine looks like a moped by comparison!

    Paul

ahh remember having one of those - I had the sluggish 2.5TD - slow old thing - luckily I sold it before I had any head gasket/fuel pump related problems with it! - the 2.8 is better/smoother and doesn't need a cambelt

No they don't but I know of a few that's have snapped there camchain's

  5. Hi guys

I wonder if someone can help. I have a 2000 ls400, but there is a guy who wants it badly and wants to do a deal with his 99 ls400.

Are there any differences between mine and his? The only difference i see is mine is a w reg and in green colour and his is a V reg in gold and mine is one of the last ls400's. I cant see any other differences. But this guy wants it badly.

    Thanks in advance guys

    12 months..... sorry could'nt help it :-)

  6. Hi Bren, It's not a whine like a wheel bearing.. It's more like a deep vibration.

I will grease the joints and see if that makes a difference to it, thanks for that Marc

Still favouring a tyre though as after they had re-balanced them it was worse, but still went off after I pulled over for a second.. It's a strange one...

Bet you any money its a tyre issue check what make they are budget tyres are known for making a lot of noise, also when you put new tyres on always put them on the front.

  7. Are you doing it yourself Steve?

No friend of mine is but he dosent know it yet :flowers:

Can I be his friend as well?

I will have to break the news to him about mine first, when he gets over the shock and picks himself up I will ask him :ooh-ducky:

  8. I believe the law in the uk forbids you having the LPG filler in an enclosed space

But its not in an enclosed place when your filling it up its exposed, no different to a conventional filler thats is usually behind a plastic cover when your not filling up.
