Which make of coil overs are you going for? Are they adjustable ride height? I'd be interested in what you think once fitted. I thought I'd go the anti-roll bar route first & the springs after.

Hi all,
As all all owners of MkII GS cars will know, the suspension is fairly soft & corner roll quite prominent. Does anyone have any experience of beefing up the anti-roll bars & what effect it had. Looking around the websites, I've only found TRD as a company who make front & rear bars for the GS. They are fairly pricey. Has anyone tried them, or do you know of any other makes?

The stock 17" alloys on my recently purchased 2002 GS 300 were pretty corroded in places & in a general poor state. Two tyres were leaking air around the rim so I exchanged four, like for like, with PX Wheels in Blackpool. The wheels are stripped & powder coated to a good as new finish & come with a 12 month guarantee. Cost was £255, including swapping tyres & balancing. A quick check that the wheels were available, a run up to Blackpool & all was complete in less than an hour. Local wheel refurbishment companies wanted £180 for a front face dress-up, so it seemed good value to me. Four new centre caps & the car looks tremendous.

I recently bought my Mk2 GS 300 & am still going through the 'checking' phase that you also are. I too have water getting into the boot area, both sides. I believe it's leaking in through the two inner bolt holes for the rear lights. There is usually a rubber washer to form a seal between light & body but nothing on mine, probably lost when renewing bulbs over the years. I found a couple of washers & also used some windscreen sealant. Seems to have cured the nearside but offside still leaking. Try this.
Lexus dealer will identify paint for you - just go to parts dept. Readily gave 10% discount for LOC membership.
Despite my Service book having no stamp in at 100K, Lexus Stockport printed out their dealer service history for the car which showed a 100K service at Lexus Liverpool. A quick call to them verified the timing belt was changed at that service (great peace of mind!) & they offerd to stamp the book if I sent it along to them. Can't fault the co-operation of everyone so far, & for a 9-year old car.
Really pleased with my purchase, hope you are.

Hi Folks,
Just joined last week & signed up for Gold Membership this morning.
After much deliberation, bought a 2002 GS 300 SE with 122K miles & (almost) full dealer history. Needs a bit of TLC, although it sounds & runs very sweet. However, I need to find out if the timing belt was changed at 100K for peace of mind. Always liked the brand, & the GS & LS models especially.
Looking forward to some enjoyable years of Lexus ownership.

Hi Guys,
My Series 2 GS 300 is fitted with what I presume are the factory locking wheel nuts with stainless steel cap fitting over the nut. Two of the cap are missing so I was considering buying a new set of locking nuts. Checking info on the net McGard seem to have a good reputation but I'm having difficulty arriving at the correct set for the 17" Lexus factory alloys. McGard part number 24195 appears to be the right set, with a 60degree cone. Can anyone verify this for me & does anyone else have these nuts fitted? Maybe there are others you would recommend.
Many thanks.
