  1. Hi all. Hope everyone is well.

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to ask where can I purchase the Apexi system here in the UK? eBay detach results only show US, and for some reason can't find it on amazon. I went directly to their site but then was a little cinfused.....I thought it was just one system but do I need to buy something else separately like a harness?

Looking to install it on my 2013 IS300h....will it be worth it on a hybrid?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Hi all,

I have changed the rear interior lights to the LEDs. Looking good.......at night!!

I am now looking to change the footwell lights to the neon tubes. This i am hoping to wire it to the existing wires. Any suggestions on which tubes to buy?

I will be looking for white coloured tubes.

    Thanks in advance guys.....

  4. Yes, the rear light cover is very easy to remove. I used two of these -> http://www.dealextreme.com/p/car-festoon-2w-t10-100-lumen-white-6-led-vehicle-light-bulb-stainless-steel-dc-12v-13428

And I am very happy with the result.

Hi Denis, I have already ordered these ones http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290559358244&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Hope they are the right size......

I had the 6000K hids delivered today. I put them on as soon as I got back from work! Looks good but im gonna check how much better light it gives tonight.

I have attached some pics of the hids and also the front interior lights. Once i change the rear ones, i will upload pics of them too.

  5. You should remove the light panel. It took me three days to gather the courage to open it at any cost. The first few times I tried with flat screwdrivers but after I scratched the surrounding plastic I gave up that method. Then I bought from ebay pry tools for opening xbox consoles. I broke the two plastic "guitar picks" and gave up that method as well. Finally I opened it using the two plastic credit cards with no damage to the surrounding plastic.

All you have to do is stick them between the light cover and the surrounding plastic (on the side that is closer to the back of the car) so you can release the clips that hold the cover. Once you release the clips just take the cards out and the cover will come down with them.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Denis, I will try and then let you know. The leds havnt arrived yet but atleast I would have figured how to change them in advance!!

Ok, so I have managed to change the bulbs allbeit I done it completely the wrong way. I actually ended up taking the WHOLE plastic cover off!!! which included 2 screws!! I know I flopped as now after replacing the plastic cover, it doesnt sit snugly back in place!! But you really cant tell. But I must admit, it was well worth it. I attempted to change the rear ones to but as soon as I opened the the light cover, I realised they were the double ended bulbs! Now im gonna have to order them too.

Thank you for your advice & tips though Denis. I will update you with pics once I get the rear ones changed too.

  7. Hi Rumen,

Regular credit card should do it, but bear in mind that it is a little thinner than the RFID card and you can easily brake it so you'd better use an expired card :)

    Cheers

    Hi Denis, Hope your well....

I have been trying to get the cover off but cant get it off. Am I supposed to take off the actual light cover or the panel where there is supposed to be a sunglasses holder?

    Thanks

  8. Hi all,

All the electrics in my car seems to work fine except the memory seat position, can anyone tell me what the process is for setting it? I assumed I would adjust seat, mirrors etc and then press and hold the first one and it would set it so that when I go in after hubbys been driving I could press that button and it would auto adjust, am I expecting too much from it?!

Set the correct seat and mirror positions, and then with the car on Park, hold down the Set button and press the number 1, 2 or 3 (which ever number you would like) and you should hear a beep to confirm that it has stored to memory

and then set your key fob memory to auto set your set position when you open door !!!

How can i set the key fob memory to auto ?

Hi, to set the key fob with a seat memory, make sure your inside the car and the car is turned off. Then, whilst holding down the seat memory number assigned to yourself, press either the lock or unlock button on the key fob. You should hear a beep. That should do it! :winky:

To test, leave the car on another seat memory which is not yours and exit the car and lock it.(actually, you may need to use the second fob to lock it so it would think its someone else locking it) Then, with your fob, unlock it and open the door, you should notice that the seat, steering wheel and mirrors should start to adjust to your settings. Hope I have made sense.... :winky:

Thanks, gonna try to do it today. I dont have the leds yet, but atleast Id know how to open it once I get them. :shifty:

I will update you once I do it........

  10. Do not attempt to open the cover with a screwdriver as you will scratch the plastic around the cover. I used two old RFID cards (credit card size) from my work.

Hi Denis, thanks for the heads....

....Will a normal credit card do? Also, which bit do i need to remove? As i said, I dont have a glasses holder just a piece of plastic, that bit or the actual light cover?

    Thanks

  11.

    Hi Rumen,

The 6000K should give more light output (not really but it will look like it) than 8000K. Take a look at that chart -> http://gpix.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/colour-temperature1.gif

What puddle LEDs did you use? Have you checked that thread -> http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/522483-first-mod-led-puddle-lights-led-interior.html

    Hi again Denis.

The LEDs I used for the puddle lights were again from eBay.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110669367496&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

As I mentioned, they are not that powerful but look good. It is a shame that I didnt come across the thread you gave before I changed them!! :crybaby:

However, I will look into it more when I change the dome lights. I deffinatly want the same look as the guy in that thread!! looks awsome!

I do not have the sunglass holder so how do I remove the cover to change the lights? I attempted with a flat screwdriver but got scared that I might scratch it all up.

    Any advice would be greatful.....

    @TG,

I am aware about the power output but I got the 8000Ks as I thought it would be the same as my younger brothers Audi A4.He has the 8000Ks and its REALLY bright! But I was wrong.

thank you for your response though ;)

  12. Hi you'd better buy 6000K D4S bulbs only (Philips or Osram - take a look at this thread http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=72360). No need to change the whole kit as it will not worth it.

Thank you for the reply Denis. :D

Unfortunatly, I have already bought a pair off eBay last week. I did order 6000K ones but the seller had ran out of them. He did ask me if I wanted to wait for them or he could send me a pair of 8000Ks. Being the impatient fool I am I asked him to send them (8000K) instead. Now dont get me wrong, they look really nice & work perfectly, no errors, however, I hate to say this, but it seems that the OEM HIDs were giving out more power/light!. I may just order another set but of 6000K output as they are supposed to be brighter right?

I have also changed my fog lights to a bit more whiter look from the ugly YELLOW OEM ones. Not gonna bother with HIDs on them. I hardly use my fogs......unlike my younger brother!! He annoys me! :D

Also changed the puddle lights to LED ones (5 SMD). Not that powerful but looks really nice......I can see where Im stepping! :winky:

I will try and post some pics if I can.

I am slowly going off topic so now i'll shut up! :D

Again Denis, Thanks for the reply bro.....

  13. Hi guys,

My name is Rumen and this is my first post here.

I have owned a Lexus IS200 for 4 years and gotta say I loved it.No problems whatsoever, just yor usual wear & tear.I just recently (Last week)bought a 56reg IS220D SE-L. It has HIDs as standard. When looking at the headlights when they are on,they are white. However, they emit a yellowish light on the car/road in front. This really puts me off. Lol!

I was wondering if I wanted to change them to an aftermarket HID bulbs, can I just replace the bulbs or would I have to buy a whole new kit? It may be a noob question so im sorry! lol!

    Thanks in advance!

PS: For my IS200, I did buy a HID kit and It never gave me any problems. It was 6000k, so it was WHITE with a hint of blue.......loved it!!
