  1. Despite having an oil leak that needs rectifying, this is sort of out of my mechanical experience. Being sandwiched between Bank Holidays have meant that I cant get the car into a garage til next week. SO me and my good mate took on what we are capable of doing... lowering!

Well it was judgement day for the car's 4x4 ride height today!....

To remind you, this was a before...

    And now after!.... :D

Id imagine it will settle down a little more over the next week or two, but this was the kinda look i was going for anyway! Ultimately (when I can afford it), there will be a set of 19"s going on, but I still have about 120mm more thread on the coilover so she can go a LOT lower if it needs to come down a drop after the wheel change.

  2. Guys (and girls), just to confirm, im not here advertising anything! Just wanted to show my first mod to my new pride and joy (didnt take me long, only bought the car yesterday!!). To stress, this is NOT an advertisment thread, merely some pics to show you how proud I am of my new car and the first of many modifications to make my GS300 into a sleeker VIP-style machine.

Hope thats okay? I really dont want to annoy any mods etc as I recognise im new to the forum and really am not trying to contravene any rules.

  3. Being an authorised Lamin-X dealer, i thought it would be rude not to give my headlights and fogs of my new pride and joy some headlight protection treatment!

Here is a during (left side standard, right side tinted)

    And an 'after'!

I think it adds quite a cool look to the car. ive installed the yellow tint on quite a few fogs before, but this is the first time I have installed the subtle tint on the headlights. I think it gives the car a nice look. What do you guys think?

  4. Well, ive now got myself the car! Just need wheels and airbags now!! Looking around, I 'think' me and a good friend have settled for making our own set of airbags. Noone local seems to have much knowledge. this wont be a quick solution, but should look great when finished! going to take a couple of months for it all to come together.

  5. I suspect its out of my budget, thanks all the same, though.

Ive seen a mk1 GS local. Nothing suggests its for sale, but im going to put a note under the window asking if they would consider selling it as ive fallen in love with mk1s! Would deffo consider a mk2 as they do seem more common, but i would have less money to throw at it.

Does anyone know how easy it is to replace the plastic that runs along the bottom of the mk2 front doors? One I looked at had the plastic seperating from the door for about 6 inches. it didnt look like you could glue it back on, is it a replaceable part?

  6. hi guys

As title suggests, newbie here on the lookout for a GS300. Sold my car last month and want something bigger than i can give the VIP treatment to. Happy with a mk1 or mk2, so if anyone knows any for sale local, please let me know! Going to be keeping an eye on the classifieds, as well as Autotrader, eBay, Pistonheads.... who thought buying one would be so hard!
