  1. I bought my 400 in June 2011 at 93K milage with a 12 months warranty included - ayear later I decided that as I was keeping the car I would purchse the 2 year extended warranty, i month later I noticed green liquid in the drive under the car. I had this checked out by Lexus Bradford and was told the transaxle was leaking. this was replaced under the warranty and would have cost me £3500 otherwise. Since then I have bought another 2 year warranty and intend to change the car next year when this runs out. It may sound a bit expensive but I prefer the peace of mind of knowing all the major items and some of the not so major ones are covered

  2. Hi I bought my RX450 SE-L in June 2011 with 92000 on the clock it had 12 month lexus warranty and when it ran out I put a further two years on. The car is brilliant - no trouble with the batteries and the fuel consumption around 30 mpg. It still drives and feels like a new car. the inverter problem was a recall by lexus so should have been sorted now on any cars out there - mine was done just after I bought the car. I did have a leak on the transaxle and the unit was changed under the warranty. I would recommend buying the Lexus used warranty it is a little expensive but does give very good cover. The big saving for me was the cost of the car - low due to the high milage - I did ask about the batteries when I bought it and was told that as yet they hadn't changed any

  3. Hi I had the same service from West Riding Lexus in Bradford - very nice to find the car filled up with petrol, I was about to say that was about to say that's better than the bottle of champagne I got from a Toyota recall when she turned round with one. I must say that the service I have received since I bought the car last June has been superb.

  4. I have driven autos for 20years. I never leave the parking brake on on the flat but use it on hills or ferries. My last car prior to the RX was a Toyota LC5 land cruiser which I had for 7 years. I had no trouble with either the gear box or the brakes. I have always felt that leaving the parking brake on for long periods will cause 1) the cables to stretch & 2) the brakes to lock on, the same applies to my caravan, the parking brake is left in the off position once the legs are down, I have seen too may vans with locked brakes in the past.
