Hi you can also try the to air Vents in your boot one is located by your jack and the other one on the opposite side you can check this by liffting the two flaps on your boot floor.

I would walk way if they offered me £2.5 k for a Lexus as good as yours I would sell it private and with that milage I would ask at least £3.5k min for it good luck selling her.

The IS is great value for Money I have a 2004 Le only thing I have done is put on a Custom Exhaust and a Panel filter. I have had the stock wheels refurbed and repainted in Grey.

www.carwingmirrors.co.uk These guys reckon they can fix our mirrors because mine is starting to go on my LE

Unfortunatly when I have modded my car and done all the work on it I never got any more money then a stock Model. Stunning looking IS by the way I love your wheels.

I have Run my IS on Tesco 99 since I bough it never a problem. I have always run my cars on Supermarket fuel since I passed my test back in 1996 and i have run Petrol and Diesel never had a problem.

Hi I had exactly the same problem with my LE back last year I tried everything the problem was that the sunroof Glass had gone. I went to a braker got a new Sunroof Runners and spare motor for £70.

Hi ladys and Gents I started my IS200 tonight to go home from Work and the engine sounded like it had a Tin Can rattling very loud around the engine this stopped after about 2 mins and engine was smooth again any ideas what this could be. also there was no loss of power and everything was normal when i drove it home.
-
Finally found the problem there was a big pool of water under my jack. I have dried it all out, I am off work know on Thursday so will try and locate where the water is coming in. will keep you all posted.

We seem to be getting alot of fog in the morning where we live so this is not helping.I am glad I am not the only one with the problem know mine does not steam up after its been valeted only when tempature drops to about 4 degress my back screen is the worst takes for ever to demist and thats the one that is always the worst. I have sat in the car for 10 mins before know waiting to demist.
The air at this time of year is really moist, everything early morning is dripping but it does seem to get dryer as winter moves in. Be interesting to see if the problem goes in a few weeks.
-
I have found that it takes me a good 25/30 minutes for the back window to de-mist on my IS200 when it's particularly cold. And that's with the air con on pretty much full blast... I had my car valeted two weeks ago so I expect that the inside has a lot of moisture at the moment. I'm not sure if this is related, I don't recall misting on the back window being a problem the past two winters.
I like the colour on your IS you have the same wheels as mine.

There are a few good Lexus only breakers around give them a try they will have soemthing. Congratulations on buying your IS I bought mine last October i felt the same as you when I picked it up a great car I have added a Pipercross panel filter to mine and a custom exhaust gives it a nice six cylinder note. well worth doing.
-
I have had many quick cars I chose the Lexus cos its well built has a great ride I have just had it MOTD today it has 82.000 miles and passed with no problems. The focus will be quicker though but why not go for a IS300 if you want a bit more grunt.

cheers for looking.

I am happy with Performance on mine they will go pretty well if you give it some stick through the gears.

OEM satnav is lush but you can retrofit any 5 to 7 inch aftermarket satnav into the popup screen if you can source the parts ;) (there is a link for that in the downloads) I wouldn't go for a double din satnav unit as the screen will be sitting to low.... I'd use one that is a multi media (ipod/mp3/video) as you can't really look at the screen while driving ;)
Silver is really nice but so is Kessington Green, Blue, Anthracite or the vibrant Yellow.
The creamy leather interior is very prone to stains and dirt so I would go for black leather...
First experience? Very nice car, electric everything, heated seats, remote unlocking for the boot etc etc etc nice shape that is still up to date...
What model to buy? go for the IS200 SPORT... most options (metal pedals & footrest/LSD/ lowered suspension/17 inch diamond cut wheels/leather/ heated electric front seats) usually with the aerokit and boot spoiler.
Next up is the IS200 SE ( without aerokit/boot spoiler/metal pedals & footrest/LSD/Lowered suspension/ only driver seat electric)
Next is the IS200 LE like 200 SE but without leather interior (budget version) and not heated manual front seats
take your pick just remember that the is200 isn't easy to upgrade to higher luxury unless you have a donor car and swap the interior loom over completely together with the updates
I have a Lexus IS200 LE it comes with 17inch wheels full Black Leather Interior HIDS and rear parking sensors, also all Mirrors Tint when a car comes behinde you and they are Power Fold also has full Electric adjust seats. The LE was only avaliable in Grey and had a Black front grill you could get them in 2.0 and 3.0 built between 2003 and 2004. The only thing mine does not have is the Sat Nav.

Oh ok that might explain why underseal has gone so thin I bough car last year and it has never had them.
thanks for your help

Dave Your LE looks stunning I have a 200 LE Where did you get the interior lighting form as it looks amazing.
cheers matt

Hi just wondering if the Lexus is200 was meant to come with with plastic wheel arch protectors on the back mine only has them on the front. Also i have had to have the rear Arches underbody sealed as they were down to the bare metal no rust still very solid anybody else had this with there IS.

A World total of 850. ALL Kodiak Grey (a darkish metallic silver which was not available on other versions). Manufactured late 2003 to early 2004, and was the most fully-loaded version of the IS200 with full dark Grey leather, HID headlamps, Armrest, Auto-Aircon, Auto headlights, Self-darkening mirrors (all of them), sunroof, "Titanium" Gearknob (that gets red-hot in sunlight) LE Badges, fitted Lexus floor mats front & rear, 8-speaker system (the tweeters count as speakers) & Chrome exhaust tailpiece.
The very last of them had charcoal alloys and darkened glass on lamp assemblies as did the very last of the other versions. A few had fitted Satnav - but since it was a very, very expensive option (£1300) & not wonderful, most just had the damped-hinge housing for it. The OTR price was around £21k to £22k. There were a few Lexus options like rear spoilers (lip on boot & raised about 12cm) & blue-illuminated sill-plates.
Thanks for the history of the car It is really well specked mine does not have sat nav. i have seen a few LE'S with a spoiler on them but very rare. i see you have an ISF i am thinking of one next if funds allow. but i will probably get IS250 F Sport. not in a hurry though to get rid of my IS as it has only done 79k.
Do You Prefer The Is200 Over The Is250 - Why?

If and when I have to change i will have to but IS250 as having owned my first Lexus for over a year know. I have found nothing comes close to Lexus for build quality and Value for money.
