Hi Ken :
I've got winter tyres+ wheels hence have a set of 4 tyres/wheels hanging around and managed to fit an original wheel + 205/55 16 tyre in place of the spacesaver tyre. The foam block holding wheel nut spanner etc and plastic tray made up the remaining space so need to be ditched. Bit funny really - call it a spacesaver tyre then fill in the resulting gap with a bulky bit of foam !
Drawback was the removable boot floor was now no longer big enough to fill the hole. I made a larger replacement using black felt stapled to a thin bit of plywood cut to the required contur using a jigsaw cutter. Works well. This was an 08 reg IS250.

Scudney :
I bought a set of afertmarket alloys shod with winter tyres when I bought my 2nd hand IS 6 years ago. By discarding the polystyrene packing, toolkit etc, there was room for the normal sized wheel/tyre which is what I now keep there for the spare. It also needed a bigger cover (floor to the central boot area) to the wider area, which I made up from black felt stapled to plywood cut to size with a jigsaw. Altogether, it looks much like the original boot floor so I was pleased.
CAUTION : My car is a 2008 base model, the tyres are 205.55.16, so thinner than yours. However there is still about 1 inch between the top of the normal wheel and the underside of the new base to the boot, so should accommodate a 225 width tyre. I cannot be sure of any other differences between the cars.
Good luck.

Hi :
I used Tayna (www.tayna.co.uk) via the internet for next day delivery - their website has clear descriptions of dimensions, terminal layout etc.

And thanks from me - couldn't fathom why the boot wouldn't open by either of the normal methods - had I experienced my first problem after a ear of ownership ? Will I have to pay the whopping Lexus labour costs ??
Five minites searching on this forum & found this thread = sorted.
Thanks

My tyres are 205/55 R16, both front and rear (08 model).
Concurring with the above, the sticker on the pillar that the driver's door closes against (listing recommended tyre pressures) lists all the tyre size combinations mentioned in the thread so far i.e.
F R
205/55R16 205/55R16
225/45R17 245/45/R17
225/40R18 255/40R18
Seems I must drive the boggiest of the bog standard IS's !

Same here - have used them for 4 years and found them very good at doing ad hoc additional jobs e.g. removing the yellow tint from the headlamp lenses.
