  1. if you fancvy change it for xxx pounds - do it. What would you do if you new dpf would get blocked after another 6 weeks? Would you fit another one for xxx pounds? Dpf could fail because other things working not correctly in the engine:air mass meter, egr, lambda sensor etc. I've seen cars fitted with new dpfs units and they are failing again after 2-4-6 weeks. So take your own opinion.

Irrespective of what make/model of car you own/drive it always pays to investigate even the slightest variations in performance/behaviour of your vehicle. A small fault caught early might be a £5 fix which if ignored could cause the failure of several items leading to a bill which could run into £hundreds/thousands.

The answer is not to remove items (which are there for a reason) but to find the core problem and fix it.

    on queestion

did you ever experienced dpf problem? Did you take it to the garage which doesn't have a clue what is doing? And the best one : did you after spending 2k or more for replacing dpf fiter get the some light back on on the dash after few weeks? What would be your feeling? I think you never did experience this sort of problem . So I removed dpf out of my car: no more problems with dpf, no more regenerations, better fuel economy ,better performance etc. I know we could talk about it : remove or not to removed , but I stay on the bright side REMOVE IT and forget about it. Regards guys

  3. hi

fuel smell - maybe you have diesel leak

poor mpg- maybe dpf is doing regeneration so often and that's why you have higher fuel consumption? Does it smoke white occasionally ? Did you notice lack of power?

cleaning injectors that could help as well.
