The brown interior is very nasty and the overall look of the series I interior really dates the car.

I entered 'paint' in their search engine and it came up with a pretty exhaustive list of pdf files for various models... but you probably already knew that :)

Anyone know where I can find the paint code on a Mk1 GS300 sport. I've looked on the Driver door pillar and that's only got tyre inflation info. According to the paint codes in the Knowledge base, there are only three possibilities. 4p2 - Desert Quartz, 4p7 - Amberley Gold or 4q8 - Cashmere. Grateful for any help.

I have just recently completed a fairly exhaustive search for tyres on my GS300 Sport and found a report on Kumho 712 tyres at:

Mine cost me £146 each fitted but that was for 275/35 18's. I Assume you require 235/45 ZR17's and checking on mytyres.co.uk they can be picked up for a much more affordable £73 each. I used to have Pirelli P Zero's but found them too soft - they only lasted me 4 months Only had the Kumho's for a week now but they are certainly quieter than the Pirelli's and I dont get the sideways kick on the bumps anymore. The 712's are by no means an economy tyre and are rated as Ultra High Performance on the Kumho website:

Can't say yet what wear and tear is going to be like but can't be worse than the Pirelli's.... can it?

Name is Paul and joined the LOC last September but only just started getting into it (sorry). 45 years young. married 24 years with two kids - Luke (17) and Rachael (15), gorgeous wife (had to put that - she's reading this over my shoulder ;) )and a dog called Sam - hence 'mr2point4'. Working as Chief Off-Line Programmer at a medium sized Manufacturing Company.

Had my Mk1 (97) GS300 Sport for 5 months and don't have any major mod plans. I'm just happy to have a bit of luxury, a bit of power and a bit of respect. I've not met anyone who doesn't like it and I still get that 'new car' feeling every time I sit in it.

I just bought two new Kumho 712, 275/35/18's. I did have Pirelli P Zero's but tyre wear was phenominal - I only got 2,500 miles out of them. I searched the web for a decent but more economic tyre and found a report on the Kumho's at:

so I thought I'd give them a go. They were £146 each fitted at Tyreland.

I bought my Mk1 GS300 Sport 3 1/2 months ago and had brand new Pirelli P Zero 265 40ZR 18's fitted to the rear.

However - I don't recommend them. I have done about 2,400 miles and they already need replacing!! :tsktsk: I have contacted Pirelli UK to see what they have to say but still awaiting a reply. Has anyone out there had experience of these tyres and if this is the expected life, how on earth does anyone afford it without robbing a bank One last question, anyone know of a cheaper tyre that still looks half decent with good wear and grip?
