  1. This is the news I've been waiting for, can't be too far off then......

Although does that mean its not going to be a hard-top convertible? Or are they just going to have a proper coupe as well?

According to thehollywoodextra.blogspot the convertible has a folding hardtop (SLK style). So at a guess Lexus will offer a proper IS Coupe and IS Convertible(Hardtop).

  2. Copy and Pasted and looked at the picture and this pictures does not tell the difference between an IS200 and IS300, The IS200 on the left is a Germany or European IS200(or it could be a IS300) which shows the European side indicators lights and the other picture on the right is an US IS300 which has side/repeater lights which European IS's don't have.

So to some up this picture tells nothing other than the left picture is a European IS and right picture is a US IS300 :) and nothing to do with telling us the difference between IS200 to a IS300 :)

  3. Then you will need some clear bulbs that flash orange From here

I bought a set of those Silverfusion ones, I managed to replace the drivers side one but I just cannot seem to get my hand into replace the other side, Anybody know an easier method.

One thing I found with the Silverfusion ones they are not as bright as the original bulbs, I suspose being cover in silver plating cuts some of the light output, o'well.

  4. I'd like Lexus to ditch the "saloon" image and start giving us more choice e.g. IS Coupe or convertible, even a two seater roadster (and please, not a rebadged MR2).

They also need to greatly improve the quality of the interiors and dump the standard japanese look when it comes to interiors. Some of the switchgear in the IS is shocking - A Nissan Primera I had several years ago had a better feel.

Yes a IS Coupe or ISC would be good, I did this one in Paintshop Pro ages ago long before I bought my IS200LE

  5. I find it hard to believe AutoSpies...

As do I, I had a conversion with Editor of Autospies about posting press release articles when they were under embargo (i.e. 2004 LS430) and the Editor attitude was who cares.

I accept that elements or themes of the LF-S will be on the 2005 IS but as it stands the LF-S is nothing more than a very nice concept car.

  6. What I don't get is way are Lexus launching it so late, very strange, It should be out this summer/autumn not 2005, Plus once people see the new model the sales of the current GS will just drop, Usually car companies keep launch dates near when the old model goes out of production but this is big amount of time between an old model ending production and new model introduction, very odd.

My guess is that maybe Toyota Japan are putting together lots of new models to launch in Japan in 2005 when the Lexus brand name is used in Japan and the GS/Aristo model and maybe the next generation IS/Altezza and maybe other new Lexus models (revised SC, LX/LC100 and RX Hybrid ?!? ) will launch in 2005 all at the same time in Japan for a grand launch of the Lexus brand.
