Correct on all fronts. I'm used to my RX auto now so didn't fancy a manual. I was a bit hesitant about the cream interior but its been kept well and looks nearly new.

Thanks guys. The colour really sold it to me and the condition is brilliant considering its 13 years old.
Any thoughts on the wheels?

Hello all
Just thought I'd share my new purchase, a 2000 Lexus IS 200. Already have a RX400h and love that but fancied something a bit sporty as well.
I'm thinking of getting the alloys done but not sure whether to change the colour or just get them refurb?

Hello Alll
I'm thinking of adding a keyless entry system to my car with push button start.
Seen a few on Alibaba but wondering if anyone's done this already?
Cheers

Thought I'd follow up on this thread. Contacted dealer and was told the later grille will fit. I realised it was the grille from a 2009 400h that I'd seen and liked so ordered one of these. (Had to order a new badge too as it's bigger on the 400) Fitted last night and looks great.
Interesting thing is though, the parts dept. checked and told me these grilles are no longer in production! He was as amazed as me as they're for 2009 cars? After a lot of searching he eventually managed to source one for the Russian market. Thought I'd pass this on as if any 400 drivers have a front end ding, they'll be told they won't be able to get a new grille for it, so tell the dealer to look up the Russian spec. and they should be able to order for you. Was delivered in 2 days and the badge had to be sent from Belgium.
Can I ask what the cost was?

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago and went the RX400h, never looked back since. I've average 30mpg and done about 800 miles including trips to London and Leicester.
The engine sounds much more refined than a diesel and found the servicing quite reasonable.

you should be able to tell if you have AFS. The lights will do a little dance when you first turn on the engine, you will also have a switch to disable AFS
found it, thanks

then I would say go for it. I've been given an indicative cost for my next service (100k) of £930. (Just make sure it will cover all items including the cam belt)
They stated the 100k service will not inc the cambelt but everything else inc the mot's and parts.

they do yes, although the base model didn't come with the Adaptive Front-lighting System found on the SE and SE-L models.
Thanks, I wasn't too sure as I can't really tell the difference! I've got the 2006 model SE so I'm presuming it comes with the adaptive front lighting system?

Just wondering do all RX400's come with Xenons factory fitted?
-
it depends which services are next due. If it isn't an expensive one, 60k or 100k, then you probably aren't saving anything.
Also worth asking for Essentials service which is available for vehicles 5+ years old.
The next two are the 90k & 100k ones. They said its a minor & major one.

I've figured it out now!

Does anyone know how to pair a phone to the Bluetooth system.
Had a look through the manuals but can't seem to find it.

Buy and enjoy.
All the inverters subject to failure were covered by a recall and the auxiliary battery is a known issue and not expensive if a nuisance.
Beyond that the car has no especial vices, failures will occur on individual vehicles and, as with any car, can be expensive (or cheap). However no patterns of failure are known to worry about.
I have taken the plunge and picked the car up today! So far very happy, the power is just crazy :-)
I'm thinking of getting a service plan from my dealer and have been quoted £560 for 2 services. Does anyone think this is a good price?
-
The battery 'fault' is just the aux battery which doesn't have enough capacity to last more than 2 weeks before going flat. Not heard of hybrid battery issues. The inverter was recalled on certain vehicles (2004 to 2006), hardly any actually failed.
If you do a lot of high speed/motorway driving then don't expect to see more than 30mpg
Thanks for response. The car will mainly be used around town, school runs, shopping etc.

Hi Guys
New to the forum and looking for some advise.
I'm looking to purchase a RX400h SE 79k, with full Lexus history.
I've never had a so called "prestige car" and I'm a bit nervous about the cost of any repairs or unforeseen issues. Ive read about a few problems with Battery and inverter faults!
I really like the car and found this to have the best MPG figures of the large 4x4's.
I would really appreciate your comments and especially from someone who moved up from a standard car and how they found the increase in cost.
Thanks
New rx400h owner. Mpg not good. Cold weather?
