Ive noticed my tracking is slightly out on my IS200.....if the wheel is straight/square it drives to the left.
However it is fine under braking etc, and I presume its the tracking.
Does 4 wheel allignment sort this out, and is the best place to go Lexus? What do they normally charge, as its going in for a service soon so might get them done at the same time (if its not too much!!)
Cheers

Cheers for the responses...looks like I wont be laquering the front stickers! Just have to wait for a dry day to fit them.

have you ever had a problem with them peeling etc if they arent laquered??

About a week & a half
Is that enough???

I read a thread on here some time ago about painting brake callipers, so Ive bought the lexus stickers and painted the callipers silver using Hammerite Smooth paint.
Following the instructions on the labels and the thread Ive applied the two rear stickers which look great. The problem's when Ive come to lacquer over the stickers. It seems to have made the paint run slightly - making it look a mess. Ive used Halfords Lacquer.
Ive managed to re-paint around the stickers, but in the middle looks a bit of a mess. Before I do the front ones, I'd like ot know what everyone else has used, or if anyone else has experienced this?!
Cheers

Sorry for the slow reply...
A reputable tyre shop was in agreement with me that my tyres were set at 30psi, and has now been confirmed by a digital gauge.
They have also recommend 30psi as I have just had two new tyres fitted.

Just had my rear alloys off to paint my brake callipers, and I noticed a couple of things.... One of them had a huge chunk of rubber missing from the inside of the tyre and a gouge out of the alloy, making it oblong! Not impressed as Lexus had only just replaced with all brand new 18's under warranty...must have been a big stone i ran over!
Also both rear tyres have worn badly in the centre of the tyre - 2" of tread on each side of the tyre was fine, but the middle the tread was below the legal limit. National tyres have said this is over inflation, but at 30-32 psi surely this isnt the case?! Have any of you guys or gals experienced this? Could it be a castor/cambor issue??

Forgive my ignorance, but the same stands for main beam as well doesnt it.
I would never dream of driving with my front fogs on during normal driving - day or night...all i am suggesting is using it at the same time as main beam.
-
It wouldnt be illegal as it wouldnt be used all the time...only with main beam..... which is illegal to drive with all the time.
As for your other comment......grow up and this isnt the place to be offensive.

Does anyone have any wiring diagrams for the IS200 headlights and front spotlights?
Im after wiring my front spots to come on when I have main beam on.... looks smart when you flash someone, and less hassle and better vis when driving at night.
Did it on my old Astra and it worked a treat...just need those damm elusive wiring diagrams.
Please help!!!!

I have recently had a new TTE styling front bumper fitted to mine due to paint flaking on the old one.
The new one was alot poorer fit, and i took it back several times to Lexus Stockport for them to sort it out..... still not ideal but the third attempt at their bodyshop got it closer....but still not as good as the orginal TTE bumper!!!

Has anybody had any dealings with Lexus Stockport wrt servicing? Mine is due very shortly for 40000miles

EDFC only fits to some of their coilovers not spring. Coilovers allow the height to be adjusted. Different models allow different height ranges but all of them will allow a drop more than the standard sport.
Cheers. I did actually mean coilovers :duh: ..... Im looking at the "Flex" model from Tein.
Are they worth the money? Approx £1500
-
Just wondering if anybody knows if fitting the Tein springs & EDFC kit (as in TDI) will alter the height of my IS200 Sport..... as the Sport is already lowered slightly.
Thanks

My paint was flaking off my 51 Reg IS200 Sport. It was on the Styling kit front spoiler ...the TTE kit... eventually after 3 months of backorder, Lexus Stockport replaced it under warranty..although still waiting for a new Lexus "L" for the grill !!
Never had any other cars that have had reports of flaking paint like the problems seen here. There must be some issue with painting on the plastic bumpers, as the main body work seems excellent.
Just a thought!!

Mine does it too at idle. No problems when revving it

Thought id just see if anybody else has experienced poor service from Lexus Stockport?
I went to them on Xmas Eve because i was getting Err3 on the CD player, and i also had some flaking paint on my front spoiler (styling kit version).
They said they would order both, covered on warranty. Few weeks later I had a phonecall saying the CD player had arrived. They had "forgotten" all about the front bumper/spoiler. They promised me that they'd to speak to Parts and get one ordered.
Few weeks again, spoke to them and still no front spoiler and no recollection of the order! Another phone call today and its now on back order...apparently.
2.5 months and counting....... as you can tell im not very impressed with the service at Lexus Stockport!!!

Sorry for the slow reply... busy at work
May be a daft question, where is the filter for the aircon??? Any pics?
-
Thanks for the replies. So do all Lexus dealers stock this "gas bomb"?
How do you use it, and more importantly how much does it cost?
-
When I turn my air conditioning on there is always a musty damp smell for at least 10 minutes. I have only really noticed it in the last month or so.
After the 10mins, it seems to clear up and be fine.
Could this be a wet filter (if there is one)? Or something completely different?!
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers

Ive been told by Mark @ TDI that they only make a K&N panel filter for the supercharged version not standard IS200 :yack:

I would have thought energising the fog light relay with the supply to the coil of the brake light relay would be the easiest and less hassle solution (in terms of over-current in cables).
All that is needed is a length of cable, couple of connectors, and a diode to prevent back flow of current to stop brake lights coming on when fog lights are on.
I carried this mod out on my Astra's front fog lights / main beam..and looked cool. SO when you flashed your headlights the front spots came on :P . But you could have your front spots on without main beam.
I want to do the same for my IS200, but struggling to find the correct wires?! Any ideas out there?? Anybody with wiring diagrams for front lighting?!?!
Slightly i know, but help would be aprreciated.
Cheers!
Paul.
