After an absolute nightmare of back and forth between the Lexus dealer in Reading, Berkshire and an autoglass repair company to find the cause of a heavily leaking windscreen on our used approved RX400h, we've now ascertained the cause of the issue and wanted to warn others thinking about buying a used approved Lexus, or who currently own one.
...
Simon,
I was thinking of getting a Lexus from the Reading dealer, are you suggesting I should go elsewhere?

Allister,
I don't own a Lexus but I'm thinking of getting a used RX400h and I intend to tow a caravan with it. My current car is a skoda Yeti 1.2 TSi petrol auto and my MPG from new to approx. 11,250 miles was 33mpg (21 towing) on average. The mileage is now 11,500 and my MPG has shot up to low 40s. Don't know why but I would suggest you let the car have a few more miles before getting too concerned. Just to add, most of my mileage is local with 2 or 3 longer trips (above 200 miles) each year.
Brian
Yeti claimed mpg:
Fuel consumption - Urban 36.2 (7.8)
Fuel consumption - Extra urban 49.6 (5.7)
Fuel consumption - Combined 44.1 (6.4)

Hello everyone,
I'm not a Lexus owner (yet) but I've joined so that I can get the benefit of forum member experiences of Lexus ownership.
Looking at the RX400h as my first Lexus so, thanks to this forum, I'm already upto speed on the Aux. Battery and the more general alloy wheel issues, and to keep away from the Leicester Lexus dealer and maybe the Reading one but not confirmed yet..
Thanks.
