  1. I've actually found the the same ecu now and his sending the whole steering colomn Aswell, he said it's easier then takin the ignition barrel out,

    So I've got coming:

    ECU 53200

Steering colomn (ignition barrel and 3 keys)

    All for £100

The 53031 ecu lock kit I've got now came with a theft warning box do I need that to, or just the ecu and key?

  2. Hi their,

I'm having trouble with my immobiliser not deactivating and because I don't have the master key I cannot reprogram the ecu.

Anyway I've found a new ecu and lockset only problem is my ecu part number is 89661 53200 and them replacement is 89661 53031.

Someone told me it would work aslong as I change everything it would work.........is this true??

  3. Hello all,

I recently bought a 2001 is200, it only came with one key (not master)

The start of everyday it wouldnt de activate the immobiliser straight away, I had to push the key in and out of the ignition (loads of times) but eventually the security light would go out. Once running and warm it would start first time everytime.

Anyway today it seems it won't turn de activate at all, so I decided to investigate

When I removed the housing round the ignition barrel their was electrical tape wrapped round the barrel immobilized reciever, when I removed it tiny shards of glass came out (think it was the transponder chip)

I saw online that I can buy a immobiliser ecu and transponder for £150.......would this work?
