  1. Well the IS has gone and I have bought myself a Audi A4 1.9SE TDi 130. Must admit the A4 is pretty quick. Plan on visiting AMD Tech to get it remapped. If the IS250 diesel gets a good write up I will be back in a few years. I am getting 650 out of a tank in the Audi, so you can see the reason why I changed. Also had something to do with my Daughter being born. Well I will pop in from time to time and see what going on.

    Thanks to everyone who has helped me over the passed year.

    Cheers

  2. My mate at the local car accessories shop told me NOT to use Wonder Wheels on new (up to 7/8 years old) alloys. He said the best stuff on the market is Hot Rims from Meguiars. I must admit it was rather good, but they need to make a brush to apply it. Have a look in your local car shop.

  3. :question:

    did somone knock on your door and demand the keys ?  :ohmy:

    No I was just pointing out what people do. I remember a ex-boss of mine had a secret immobiliser fitted. The way it work was if you put the keys in and started the car it would not work. The system was so simple. Two screws connected to two wires that then go to the engine. To start the car you needed to lick your index & pinky, then place them on the two screws turn the key and the car would start. If they did get your car they would have no idea why it would not start. If anyone wants info on this I will contact my ex-boss.

  4. :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: I really hate people like this. I have had about 3 cars broken in to and my ice nicked. I understand everyone putting alarms & immobiliser on but how does that stop someone knocking at your door and asking for your keys. This is probable the best thing ANYONE could fit to there car http://www.tracker-network.co.uk/home/ What pisses me off the most is they will never be caught.

  5. You are all lucky. I work shifts (12.15 hrs) and was back to work on Boxing Day. I worked the 26th, 27th (day-shifts), 28th & 29th (night-shift). I was off the 30, 31, 1 & 2, I came back to work today (3rd). I go on holiday from the 7th till the 28th and I only took 8 days holiday.

  6. I bought a Lexus IS200 Sport last year and I love it. You also get tinted rear windows, two tone steering wheel, split diferental, metal foot pedals/kick plates & rear spoiler. Best thing to do is look at all three. The S has 16" wheels. The SE comes with 17" & the Sport is the same. I would advise you to check the alloys for corrosion and if they are ask about refurbs or replacements. The wheels on my IS were bad, so I bought aftermarket wheels. After I told him he I bought new wheels he asked why? So he replaced all 5 with refurbs. I had to replace my front lower ball joints and it cost me £150.00 fitted. Lexus customer service is the best. If you have a problem with your radio (the dreaded err3 code) Lexus have extended the warranty to 5 years.

  7. I only went out to get cables for my PC and I landed up buying a Lexus.  We had a Renault Scenic (don't laugh) that had a few problems.  I visited a Mazda dealer and looked at the Mazda 6, then the wife said what about a Lexus.  At first I thought the Lexus was out of my price range but when I saw the car and price I bought it.  So it the most expensive PC cables ever!!!!

    On a positve note, a woman recognised a Lexus. Thats impressive, most birds i've spoken to are like ....a what??

    Interesting story.

    I had always like the Lexus IS200 when I saw it back in 1998. I now own one and I live it to bits. I really can't see me buying any other make now.

  9. Tyres.....can wear out after only 8000 miles

    Suspension.....knocking from both front and rear

    Engine....poor starting

    Air Conditioner.....nasty smells

    Alloys.....suffer from corrosion

    Sun Roof....creaks

    Brakes....loud noise caused by loose/worn pins

    Fuel tank......difficult to fill

    etc,

    I have had my Lexus IS200 for a year. I have had to do the following.

    Tyres = 2 (1 x Puncture unfixable & 1 x Boardline legal after 6 months) = £65.00 per tyre

    Suspension = Just changed my front lower ball joints = £155.00 supplied & fitted

    Engine = Poor Starting (I changed my battery) = £33.00

    Air Con = No problems = £0.00

    alloys = Purchased a new set of aftermarket alloys, then had all 5 replaced my Dealer I bought car from. = £400.00

    Sunroof = No Problems = £0.00

    Brakes = No Problems (Front pads need changed soon)

    Fuel Tank = Solved (input nozzle and place upwards)

    CD/Radio = Replaced twice (known problem and Lexus have given them 5 year warranty)

    I bought a brand new Renault Scenic in 2002 and I have to have all the ignition coils replaced, brand new gearbox & when I turned left it squeaked = (build up of dust and crap on my brakes) = £120.00. After all the above happened anytime I drove the car I was thinking something was going to happen.

    I went shopping for cables for my PC and decided to have a look at some cars. My wife said "lets have a look at a Lexus" so by the next day I bought one.
