  1. Thanks but too late Westfield now working on her, £530 inc labour new lexus alternator (which was actually cheaper than other makes) and the diagnostic. I'm still bit concerned though, they had it on charge overnight got it to 13v ran the car for 20 mins then turned off left for 20 mins and checked Battery and it was reading 10v. Me I thinking the Battery is naff now that we have damaged it by letting it go completey flat and then bump starting. What do u think?

  2. My daughter went to turkey to work for the summer back in June, and being the good mum I am I took over her car financial commitments to help her out, it seems the best thing was for me to drive about her little Clio, so I SORN the lexus when the tax ran out in July and popped her away, the car was started regular but not taken for any drives obviously coz of the SORN.

I then broke my leg, so the car was definitely not used. Daughter is home on Friday, leg is healed, tax is on car - car is dead :(

Tow truck just taken her away to car hospital fingers crossed it's not the alternator.

  3. Car flat as anything, called out green flag whom come an hour ago tried to jump start, car started but it's not holding charge, man thinks its alternator, however Westfield lexus specialist whom we always use have said its very unlikely to be the alternator but they gonna check it out, so the wait now for tow truck to take the car to them, Battery was new in feb, but we have had the car stored a lot of the summer in the garage.

  4. Hi guys, well car was left at airport for two weeks in July and started fine when we returned, we did hold our breathes as I turned the key lol, however, I've had the car off road in the garage for two months as I've been driving my daughters little Clio around whilst she is working abroad and as I am paying her insurance I thought I'd get my money's worth lol, have been going into garage every other week and starting her up, but yesterday she was flat as anything, had to have an industrial mains jump start to get her going again.

  5. ditto got my letter as well this morning.

Surprised the letter does not mention minimising passenger use until it has been checked.

I wonder if it is all models or just the early ones ,mine is a 51 reg.

I think someone mentioned its the early models not sure though! I don't have much usage with passengers but when I do it's my 9yr old son that sits beside me so I'd like to think his safety wasn't being jeopardised!!

  6. No it's gatwick and I always stay the on site car park where I take my keys, ive seen many dispatcher watchdog programmes where nice cars have been used for weddings etc!!!! I like to park my own car and know no one else is gonna be sitting in my car lol. But peace of mind that they will be someone around to jump start if need be :)

  7. Hi no I put on Avons - I've used these on my last car and great in the rain, yes prices are dearer down south unfortunately! I prefer the Avons already the drive feels better, so will get rid of the back ones after my holiday and we looking at getting a space saver spare now too!
