I took my LS460 on a run down to Cornwall from my home in Staffordshire and drove at a steady 70mph and got 36mpg.

Ok, I've finally got round to taking some pictures of my 460 SE-L after 4 weeks of ownership. I can honestly say that after driving it for the last 4 weeks that it is absolutely amazing. My whole driving style has changed since I bought this car. Before, in my IS300, I would mostly be driving with a heavy right foot away from traffic lights etc whereas now I just prefer to waft along in serene silence and luxury. I have all the gadgets that I could ever want in a car and more. My children are spoilt in the back with the tv, climate and the heated/cooled seats. Most people that think about owning one of these always worry about the fuel usage. After having an IS300 for the last 3 years, this 460 SE-L is only 3-4mpg worse which is hardly worth worrying about in my opinion, Happy driving driving days ahead methinks

I've gone and bought one!!!! Same colour as my IS300 and an SE-L :-) I'm picking it up on the 2nd April. Just need to sell my IS300 now.

I'm tempted to trade up from my IS300 to an LS460. The running costs other than VED are near enough the same. Any info greatly appreciated :-)

I average about 24mpg in my IS300 :-)

Hi
Has anyone been to look at the grey ISF on Autotrader?
-
Cheers Stuart, i gathered it must have been something like that.
Pickings are certainly pretty slim with ISF's at the moment. I'll have to bide my time I think :-(
-
Has anyone viewed the white ISF on Autotrader? Wondered if there was something wrong with it as it's been on there for ages and not sold.

I get just under 22mpg out of my IS300 and that's all town driving ;-)

I've got a slight 'suspension' noise. I had some tyres on before that were due to be changed so I had 4 new tyres that have the Uniroyal tyre pattern when I had my alloys refurbed. I'm not convinced it is the tyres that cause this noise. My friend, who is a Lexus technician, reckons it's the shock absorber so I think I'll try that now.

Thanks for the post. I'm thinking of getting mine painted darker when I get them refurbished so it was useful to see what they look like. Did you remove the logos from the centre caps by melting the blob of plastic at the back with a soldering iron?
I used a flat ended screwdriver and scraped the blobs off, worked a treat :-)

Just out of interest what are those metal plates in the 2rd picture on the front alloy wheel at the back? one of mine has them
Metal plates????

Finally, here are the pictures of my newly refurbished alloys in graphite grey. I removed the Lexus logos and painted them gloss black whilst the centres were painted along with my wheels plus I had 4 new tyres as well. I've got some red paint for the calipers and the black logo stickers for the calipers, just need some nice weather this weekend :-)
What does everyone think?
Also the paperwork for my private reg came so I put my new plates on :-)
-
If you want to look at some of the oversize number plates just go on autotrader :-)
-
We'll, I've just picked my car up and the alloys look amazing!!!!
I'll be fitting the logos to the centre caps and popping them on tomorrow then I'll take some pictures in daylight :-)
