Still looking for a good tint shop....
-
Anyone by chance have a wiring diagram or know what may be needed to rewire my rear inner trunk tail lights to be turned on with a switch? I would prefer not to add an ugly rear light hanging at the bottom of my bumper. Thanks!
Looking to do something like this.... saw this on clublexus.com
Here are the videos I said I was going to take.
In this one I show how the oem rear fog-lights work while pressing on
the brake pedal and turning on/off fog-lights during the video.

In this one I show how the inner lights now work as fully functional stop lights, copying how it works and looks on USDM GS.

Here is a picture of the inside cabin button I press to turn on the rear fog-lights.
Mentioned inside cabin button only works when this inside trunk (added)
switch is in the fog-light position. If it's not the inner lights work
as stop lights. Here is a crappy pic of the switch and the wires I had
to add to make all of this work.
Here is a picture of the extra (white) wire I had to run to the inner lights to make them work as "running" lights also.
And a couple of videos of the freshly installed led mirror covers

The last video is something that I think USDM GS can't do due to as I suppose safety regulations. I mean the "close" part

Can anyone please recommend a good honest reliable car electrician to do some light work on my car? I need to do the rear fog lamp modification (I don't want a rear lamp hanging off the bumper) to my Aristo but paying £120 seems rather high. I'm in the Suffolk area needing to do this very soon as my car has arrived in
country and if the place can do an MOT as well that would be awesome. Thanks! -
Hello all,
I've recently moved to the UK and am in need of some help locating some good reliable honest shops to help with the items below. I'm located in the Suffolk region and don't mind driving a little bit if need be. Hopefully the places would have weekend hours since I'd only be available on them. Thank you for the suggestions!
- I have a junction produce grill that the previous owner had painted and id like to repaint it in the chrome color.
(heard RJM Body Repairs in Bury St Edmunds would good through various googling on ther forums)
- Need a laser alignment done since I installed coilovers on the car prior to shipping it. Also on average how much do they run and what's reasonable?
- Good tint shop that won't charge an arm and a leg to remove the old tint and redo it. Also on average how much do they run and what's reasonable
(heard DZ Detailz in Mildnehall does a good job from what I've read on other forums as well, but haven't been able to contact them via email or going to their shop.)

So I have a 98 Aristo and want to have my tint re-done as it looks like crap with wave bubbles everywhere. Can anyone tell me how much I should expect to have the installer remove my tint and reinstall the new tint? Also can anyone recommend some good installers? Preferably in the Suffolk region. Thanks!

The rear fog light must only be on when there is poor visibility, think its something like less Han 100 meters.
I know that on any new vehicles the switch itself must have 'prominent' illumination when it is on.
Gotcha...I bought a switch with an LED on it that will illuminate when the lights are turned on. I'll also label it
-
Ok well I finally got around to buying my PIAA rear fog lamp and deciding on wiring the lamp to my rear tail lights so when I turn on my headlamps at night and the rear tail lights illuminate the rear fog lamp will also be illuminated.
so my next question is...for MOT purposes is this okay with it always being on when the lights are on and not labeled? or does it need to be labeled as well? thanks for the answers for my dumb question
-
What else needs to be done in order for it to pass a UK MOT, Didn't think there would be that much surely?
Seems about it really for a grey market car. I'm just going to update the typical maintenance stuff. Got a set of Celsior/LS400 4pot calipers to put on later
-
Yeah I was just planning to run a switch for it in the cabin and label it "REAR FOG" and have a universal rear fog lamp mounted to the rear bumper. Definently not going to sell the car and buy another one when I arrive lol.
I'm planning to do alot of the MOT requirements before I arrive so it's an easy process for me. Can't be any more of a pain in the ***** than the japanese JCI/Shaken.

Hey guys so I'm currently living in Tokyo and am going to move to England in several months. Currently I'm going through the list of what I need to do to my 98 Aristo in order for it to go through MOT smoothly. Now one thing I have to do is the rear fog lamp modification...can anyone please direct me on how they accomplished this for a non-euro spec gs300/400/430? Thanks! :)
Mk2 Gs Caliper Compatibility?
in Brakes & Suspension
Posted
Well I have a Mk2 GS and am in need of a front right caliper since mine is seized. Anyone know what other calipers are compatible? I don't need the carrier to be honest...only need the portion with the pistons in them.
