  1. Hi guys.  Attached is the part list from lexus. I’m not sure it has all the parts but it has coils springs, struts and top mount.

I think you only need to source top and bottom noise dampers. They’re like a round rubber ring to fit between the coil and fixing to stop rattles and bangs etc.  If I get the chance I’ll also attach my order from the internet as I have them on there.

  2. I understand about buying used ones but how long will they last and I’ve just had to return 1 with the cost of postage to me and also the fit and taken off again as it didn’t work when fitted so I’m out £200 once I get my money back from the part and still no further forward.  If I buy and fit the springs I know I’m good to go with no more costs on suspension hopefully.

That is a long term fix so should be more cost effective in the long run.

Still need the original advice about the job though

    cheers

    Gary.

  3. Hi Guys. A bit of advice please, I have a 2004 Lexus RX300 and i need to change from air to spring as both my rear air suspension are knackered. What i want to know is are these the right struts and springs which come complete from the USA and what other parts will i need as i have followed this post and read about sourcing the other parts from else where. Any advice would be appreciated.

  4. Intermittent amplifier. Check and repair. I have had an intermittent sound coming from the Mark Levindon Amplifier in my SC430 so I have got to it and it felt like one of the connectors worked its self loose, only about 1 or 2 mils but since I shoved it back in 5 days ago it has worked flawlessly since. Try before you buy!!!!

  5. I have found the culprit, its the mechanism that tilts the seat back and forward. its the part after the motor, it is white plastic and has a couple of cogs inside it to tilt the seat back.

Anyone got one or an old damaged passenger seat that i can take the part off.

    cheers

  6. Got your request too late Alex. will try and take pics when re-assembling and post them in reverse order, lol

i've completely stripped it now, seat off, back off, and disconnected the wires from them also to make it easier to work. If i get this mess back together and it works i,ll show my arse at Buckingham Palace!!! theres loads of tech in these chairs.....

  7. update, ok, i have now removed the seat and the side furniture and removed the motor and tested it. the motor works fine both ways, i put it back on the seat and i can see it trying to move the back but it seems jammed, how do i take off the tilting mechanism and how can i tilt the seat manually in the meantime.

    cheers

  8. ok, I have loosened the seat now and managed to turn it enough to examine it even though all the furniture is still on the seat. i can see at the side there is a small motor with a push rod connected to it to tilt the seat. how do i take the seat apart to access it and check to see if its repairable or replace it. also where can i get replacement parts if needed.

    thanks

    Gary

  9. Hi All.

My passenger seat in my sc430 has stopped tilting, i can't seem to find out why. there is a slight clunking when the tilt button is moved in either direction which tells me its not the power system or the button, is this right?

I thought maybe one of the kids have dislodge something which their clumsy feet but can't see anything hanging down.

Anyone have any experience on this subject?

    cheers

  10. Like a previous post i have had mine converted and experienced no problems as of yet in 18 month, just lower petrol bills. i worked out it would be 2 yrs before the system paid for itself, i nearly have my money back within 18 months. made up i did it, great looking car, i don't boot it so its no concern on acceleration issue ( hardly any difference ) but it works out 40% cheaper to run. big saving in anyones wallet. I too had the tank fitted in the boot, its a long tank that goes along the back of the car in the space where the roof doesn't touch when in the boot. it holds 75 Ltrs. well worth looking into.

    good luck

  11. Hi Guys.

I have for sale my boot moulding for the boot area for the tools and its cover. £50 for both, buyer collects from liverpool.

also there is a protective over carpet or two, not sure which but they are free although they are quite used and may be some use to the buyer. both offered together and not separated.

    cheers
