Hello,
I have just picked up a '99 LS400. Very happy with it.
Only problem is that the three temperature displays on the top of the satnav panel do not light up at night. I guess that it is just a bulb that needs changing. Has anyone fixed this problem before? What did you have to do?
Mark.

I have just bought a 1990 LS400, but the remote locking doesn't work. ( Seller told me it needed a new Battery...)
It turns out that some plonker has drilled a hole through the corner of the key ( and through the PCB inside ) and threaded the keyring through it.
As luck has it, the damage is not to the programmed IC inside. ( The dealers tell me I need a master key - £154 , a new ECU as my key doesn't work £600+ plus labour for programming !!) I don't think so!
Does anyone know where I can get a second hand key ( written off car maybe? ) so I can use it as a PCB donor to transplant the IC onto?
Has anyone else been through this?
All help appreciated.

I have a 1990 LS400 with an unreadable climate control display. - Has turned completely black at one side - looks as if ink has leaked into it.
Lexus dealers quote £300 + VAT for a new climate control panel.
Do you have any contacts for repair or replacement of the LCD display?

Thanks for that - now I get the idea how the satnav panel would come out. Your photo guide is great - I shall do a similar one for the repairs to mine - which will include:
1: Changing temperature display bulbs
2: SatNav screen failing to start up (blank white screen) - intermittant fault.
Cheers,
Mark.
