I the garage that carried out your Lpg service put your car on a 2 post ramp then as the body is raised and the wheels come off the ground if the ride height/ headlamp adjusters have not been lubricated on a regular basis then they can become dislodged or even break (as I've seen many times). The safest way to check is back on a ramp .... The fact that the car may have been put on a ramp to carry out the LPG service and an unserviced part of the car my have broken really can't be blamed on the garage. Andy

I did a bit of a cheat on one of my cars a number of years ago .,,. I know these are not the same but might give you an idea ...3 pin headlight bulb cut the locator lugs off and refit bulb at 11.00 o'clock instead of 12 .... Same car not failed a CT in for headlights !!

What year is your car ???
If the engine management light is on as well then it could be your O2 sensor
But if no EML on then check ride height adjusters.

That one does look original but if you turn it over there will be a date stamp (of some sort) on the other side .... I changed one recently on my sons mk4 with 253,000 miles on it that was original, nothing wrong with it just replaced it with timing belt kit .... He put some photos on here somewhere .... Adam Evans

Just sorting some out now !!!I also use 5w - 30 sympathetic oil in my. LS400 and doesn't use a drop between servicing and mines at 136,000
Best get the plugs checked to see if they are oiling up a little .. Or give it a fresh oil change with quality oil
When did you get your LS400
Do you have any photos to upload ?

It's not on UKLPG database so may have been a DIY installation ( or someone not properly certified for fitting LPG )

Sorry it just looked like rubber hose & couldn't see it was suitable for LPG ...... But 1/4 ID seems a little small for a V8 especially as the ends will reduce it even more .. Closer to 4mm .. I thought a V8 would need 8mm feed pipe BRC used to use 8mm on everything over 4cyl . Just a thought

After looking at this photo
Does that solenoid have liquid Lpg going through it ??? If so that is very dangerous

If you don't mind me asking who is converting it and what price , are you putting flashlube on it ??

Looking forward to the photos ... Are you going to do a step by step on the LPG install ??

Make sure your Battery has a good charge in it and leave the ignition turned on for over 15 mins .... That usually works
-
That sounds like a bargain ... Has it got Lpg ??

What sort of RPM are you doing at cruising speed ? I have a customer who also put a Mk1 engine & box in a surf and also had poor economy, the fault was a sensor that stopped it from going into top gear when it's warmed up .. A bit like driving a manual in 3rd .. I don't know which sensor it was but he said it was common on a lot of Jap's
