  1. You don't have to solder on pins like I did, you can solder the wire directly, just easier to work with connectors. But if you use LED, remember they need to be connected correctly as they have a positive and a negative pin that have to be right to lit up.

Any other questions to this mod? just shout out ;)

  2. Yes, you will loose your buzzer if you remove your buzzer ;) as its only one buzzer.

If your like me and don't care, go ahead and do the fix, I have had many cars before that dont make sounds when handbrake is on, the lights you can see its on, and if you forgot your key in the ignition, you wont be able to lock your car, so how I see it, I dont really need it.

But for all of you that think this buzzer is crazy annoying, but still want a signal for when you have accidentally thrown it in to reverse, I made a mod to show you:

I soldered on two pins in the holes the buzzer pins were, so now I can connect a buzzer with a wire in between, or a LED as shown here:

    LED connected to the pins:

As you can see, it lights up and blink when needed:

Just put the LED wherever you want it, and you have a blinker instead of buzzer for reverse, lights, handbrake etc...

  3. I have searched around the web for a solution to this "problem" and couldn't find any, just several unsolved forum threads.

So I thought I'd try myself. On the different forums people seem to agree sound came from the instrument cluster, so I took it apart, located the speaker inside, found the two pins on the printboard belonging to the speaker, heated up the soldering iron and got rid of it, worked out perfectly.

if you guys don't wanna get rid of it for good, you could just solder in some wires between them and connect a simple switch on one of the wires.

another idea is to solder on wire and connect them to a 12v LED or bulb and put in the spot for reverse bulb on automatic cars, then you light up a "R" in the instrument cluster every time you hit reverse!

know this is 10 years old but if anybody still wonders, this is the solution, hope it helps ;)
