As I understand it red is available as mixed or concentrate ,pink is newer super long life i.e. 10 year life .red life is 3 years so choice is yours if your going to keep car .red and change every 3 or pink and forget it

What I did is trim some 9012 hir2 bulbs to fit lots better than standard,avoid problems with boys in blue or mot testers for fitting hide to car not fitted as standard

right if you look on candle power forums there are instructions ,but it is quite simple .when you remove old bulb and comapare it to new bulb ,you will see the top tag needs to be trimmed,took me 20 mins to remove old, trim new and refit old bulbs output 1000 lumens new ones 9012 hir2 out put 1850 lumens, at night on country roads difference is great as long as your headlights are properly set will not cause dazzle to other drivers unlike retrofit hids

Up to you ,toyota price for sensor 160 ish plus book time for fitting,certainly less than your mechanics quote

Yes you can drive it .ecu goes into default mode .will deliver a richer mixture ,mpg will go down .as not the most economic car to start with its up to you .took me 15 mins to change obviously yours may be different .i would get another mechanics advice

When I had mine replaced used local company to me jp windshields hails ham 200 fitted with heated wiper area might be worth phoning round local fitters not just the nationals
