  1. Further to my earlier post returning from "up north" the VSC and engine warning came on again and stayed on. I have relayed my experiences on the similar forum concerning this problem suffice to say it cost me £125 for the new coil - watching the mechanic do the work, I could readily handle coils 2, 4 and 6 but the rest needs pipes moving etc and that's a bit of a no no!

I have searched Internet and find that the coils (code 90919-02251 ) vary in price from £ 8.95 ( China) to £ 137 uk plus vat.

My garage charged £54 for 1 hour but spent time changing the coils over whilst trying to isolate the fault.

    No complaints.

    Love this car.

  2. Hi all - had the same fault recently 0355 which was intermittent - had my local garage do a diagnostic check and he recommended swapping the coil and spark plug into different slots to confirm a coil malfunction. Swapped coil from 5 to 4 and spark plug 5 to 2.

Fault duly returned and code 0354 came up which confirmed the problem coil. Spark plug ok and as they were changed in June I would not have expected a problem.

New coil fitted £125 plus VAT.

Went on line looking for coil 90919-02251, as stamped on the old coil, and found prices from £8.95 ( China ) to £137 plus vat in UK.

Seems that there are cheaper alternatives which match up so I shall investigate further. Having watched the mechanics replace the coil I know I could do the job on pots 2 -4 -6 myself but 1 3 and 5 means removing hoses etc to get at them and then, would I have the tools ?

Great car though and a little treat in my old age !!

  3. Hi all - had the VSC light and the engine symbol on intermittently. Local garage had a look today and came up with error p0355. Seem that this is on cylinder no. 5 and all you have said about replacing the coil was the probable solution. Code was cleared but within a few miles it was back on again.

I'm now awaiting a cost of a replacement coil and it has been suggested that all 3 (?) should be replaced.

The car is on a 56 plate with 65000 on the clock.

  4. Returning from a visit "up North" cruising the A1 when the VSC and Engine lights came on. Wife read the manual whilst continuing which advised " brake system ok " therefore, we continued South.

When at home I read up the forum here at the Owners Club and read about the " whoosh" from the petrol cap.

Went to the car undid the cap, slight "whoosh" tightened the cap. Wife drove car 5 miles - lights went out and haven't reappeared in the last 3 days whilst driving 50 plus miles.

    Will continue to monitor.

I think the forum is a wonderful source for the best advice around at little or no cost.

  6. Welcome to the LOC. I joined last week and have spent a few hours looking through the forum subjects - everything is there and they are a great help and comfort.

I'm still trying to get an Owners Book from the dealer plus two headphones for the ICE system - the answers are all there on the forum which help in my quest.

Seem to be if any problems - put it on the forum for all the help you will need.

    Have fun
