I think that looks good !
May I ask how much and ease of fitting etc...?
Yeah for sure, they were circa 360 landed if I remember right.
They are designed to 'plug and play' so once a few clips had been removed the trims came out and the new units just bolt into place, it takes about an hour in total. But you will need to wire in some additional resistors to prevent the VSC system being disabled. Although the OEM brake/side lights are LEDs, they must have built in resistors or something to take the current load.
Resistors are available from eBay for circa £2.50 delivered but luckily I had some sitting around in the garage.
The one problem I came across was when they were first installed, I had a number of faults appear

...they are not really a mod, just a subtle update, an IS-F 2.5 if you will. Anyway, im sure they are not to every ones taste but I like them:)

440bhp, 500 in UK! Someone that knows nothing about the ISF..
Wonder if they have replaced that missing exhaust tip?
Exactly what I thought Steve, he knows nothing, where did he get that number of 500 from!
And I dont think the tip has been replaced, note how none of the pics on eBay show the car from the back.

So the infamous Yorkshire Police ISF is for sale, interesting how the seller seems to think it was used as one of their 'undercover' cars...hmmmm

I was sitting behind you in my wifes white 3 series coupe on Thursday evening on the A23 and then down the M23, got to say, it sounded great from where we were:))
-
Thanks Stuart, I don't have any cold start clips but me and my boy took it out for a spin tonight
Oh, and the wife has said that she would love some retail therapy so yes, ill be coming:))

Well after modifying one set of silencers, I went about making a Prototype Super Sport set. They are not quite Straight pipes as ive kept one set of internal baffles and the resonance damper. The car now sounds the nuts with very little drone.
So a weekend of work and a not so wallet busting £45 later. The result is...well lets just say, great.
-
Sounds good Mark. :)
I may need to get my secondary cat's back mate. Will largely depend on whether the car will still pass the sniff test for the MOT! ;)
I'll ask my tester (also my bodyshop guys) to probe it next week when they are painting the bonnet for me.
Hopefully it'll be fine without them, but just in case I thought I'd mention it now! :)
Look forward to seeing how you get on with the silencers chap. :)
Cheers.
Pete
Sorry for the delay in replying bud, been in Korea on work. Silencers are now done:) and must say, it's worked out very nice.
Just let me know when you want to get yr pipes, I've got them stored in the garage at the mo...damn their big f@"kers! Lol
-
Welcome to a very exclusive club - Enjoy! :)
-
Yes I did thanks Pete although im only going to work with the rear silencers for now.
One of the silencers is now done :) You wouldn't believe whats going on inside them and how much they must be restricting the gas flow.
Going to start work on the other one this weekend so all being well ill have it on the car for testing in the next week or so :)
-
No worries Mark. :)
Think he mentioned there were three of them already at the workshop! Lol.
I'll make sure he puts mine aside for you as well chap. :)
Cheers.
Pete
Hey Pete, Picked up your old pipes yesterday. Thanks for arranging that:) Now the hard work starts, lol
-
It is a bit of a beast Peter, lol.
I plan on throwing it in the back of my company car so if you could ask them to hang onto it, ill pick it up from Basildon.
Thanks bud.
M :)

Thanks chaps :)

No I need the pipe work as well Stu because I want to see if I can modify it as close to OE as possible so it just bolts on/off in the same way.
-
They were a company in Essex that had just fitted a performance system?
-
Indeed it will! Sadly they kept my back boxes or I would have offered.
Finally booked in then Pete. Sadly after the Cambridge meet :(
Be good to hear it and take a clip so others can hear any difference and so make an informed decision. Ideally we want one stock, one like mine and yours.
Stu
I think it might have been yr old ones I saw on eBay Stu. I was going to buy them but they got sold:(
-
Hi Pete,
Thanks bud.
If you could ask them that would be great. If I can make it work it would replicate the system I had on my RS4.
In other words, not waking the neighborhood should you leave home early/get back late.
Thing is, I don't really want to start chopping my system as it would take the car off the road for too long, and we cant have that...can we;)
-
Does anyone have a set of standard rear silencers laying around? I want to open a set up to see what they have in them.
I'm working on creating active silencers:))

Thanks Steve, the only thing I plan to do to the headlights is to make the orange reflectors into active side markers with LEDs. But thats going to take a little investigation.
