Hello,
I have a Lexus LS430 and want to install a tow bar. This tow bar will be used to tow
a trailer carrying a Caterham 7 Superlight (less than 500KG) and the trailer is
relatively light weight as well. So the total gross weight is relatively small.
Has anyone in the UK had a tow bar installed to an LS430 or any other Lexus? Can you recommend a company to do this?
Cheers

Hi Guys. Haven't visited the site for a while glad to see it's being well patronised. As regards to upgrading to the 430. a smart move to hell with the cost go for it. I had two Ls400's and have have been the owner of my 430 for two years now & have not regretted a day.been totally reliable apart from oxygen sensor going down but thats minor as i buy all my parts in from the states at half the cost including postage.Try www.lxpartsconnection.com but that apart a fantastic upgrade.
All 430's have the air suspension ,don't forget rear control of all the sound system, elec recliners not to mention all the other standard spec. Take a note of all the celebs on TV now driving Lexus. Dalziel & pascoe ,Doc Martin,Trevor Eve (Waking the dead). Amanda Redfern. look out Mercedes your days are numbered. Keep up the gossip guys will visit again

Hi , What i suggest firstly is that if you get someone to mess about with your motor who is not familiar with them can do some serious damage especially short cutting relays. Try to get it to your nearest dealer who can put an accurate diagnostic check on it and will tell you what is wrong. They will charge you for 1/2 hr labour approx £60. Good luck

Hi there. It's very simple to do just remove the right hand trim cover in the boot ,This will expose the sat nav unit. There are two fixings either end ,remove. Gently lift the unit up on the angle & press eject . Insert new disc .reverse removal and thats it. It will automatically load information.

I have recently obtained new 2005 dvd at cost of £320 and does have 8,7 gig
of memory,Haven't yet noticed a great deal of change as the old one was very good but just felt the need to upgrade. That means my 2000 version from my ls430 is up for grabs. Anyone interested make me a sensible offer.

Hi you say it is when your slowing down but you didn't say whether it was under braking or not not.

Hi seems as though you are picking up on a problem that comes with time.
If your dealer cannot give you a satisfactory answer to your problem then contact Lexus UK. explain your problem asking them if they expect you to pay for a continual problem that they should have sorted. I have found them to be very helpful in the past. Good luck

Two other good searches you can try, Confused.com they auto search 95%
of the country's leading company's and come back to you within the hour,
Also try Privelage insurance they are also very good.

[Always had a good deal on my insurance. Obviously depends on your circumstances. I pay £340 on my ls430. Give them a try. At Frizzell or other wise known as Liverpool & Victoria.

Hi Bob, I am now on my third Ls, started with a 92K plater 7 years ago.
Then a 96 plate now a ls430. I,m 55 now and don't give a toss whether people think it's an old farts car. Just goes to show experience and knowledge comes with age. Stick with it you will not be disapointed.

This is my first post on this forum so please be gentle with me.
I currently drive a GS430 Sport, having owned a GS300 previously. I am now considering changing to an LS430, but am worried that I am not old enough! Seriously.
I am 53 years old and would be interested to know the average age of LS drivers. Perhaps this forum could give me a clue.
Stupid question, I know, but I would be interested. I have such little street cred left and I would hate to lose that.
Many thanks

Hi There. you best best is Brooklyn toyota of Cheltenham, 01242 527778.
Lost Lexus agency couple of years ago but the 2 guys there are Lexus trained.
Their servicing cost is half that of main dealer. hope this is useful.

Hi Mike , look on ' parking sensors' on your msn. or www.perfectparking.co.uk.
This is a similar system i have fitted on my ls430 and is accurate and works well.
can also be colour sprayed. easy to fit, apart from having to carefully drill through the back seat bulkhead to get display cable through, took about 2hrs to fit. wish you well.

Hi everyone,
I've just bought an old LS400 which, sadly, has seen quite a bit of neglect. However it drives great and everything works, but I have a couple of questions appropriate to this section of the forum which I have already mentioned in the 'general maintenance' bit - hope you don't mind.
(1) What is the cooler pipe which runs in front of the radiator / a.c. condensor at the bottom? Is it for the PAS or transmission? I am concerned because this pipe is rusty. I've painted it with underseal temporarily to stop it getting worse, but I know I must get it changed ASAP. Difficult job? Expensive etc. etc.?
(2) Is the shifter position indicator (by the lever) supposed to light up at night? Mine doesn't.
(3) When going over a bump or rough surface, there is a 'tyre smacking' sound from the rear. All tyres are OK, with the rears inflated to 33 p.s.i. Is this sound a symptom of worn suspension bushes or suchlike?
Sorry if these seem trivial questions, but I've only had the car a few days.
