  1. I have the same car in the same colour and I am also disappointed I the colour. I loved the colour in the showroom, but in real light the colour has a champagne feel about it.

One of my biggest concerns was the lack of a digital speedo as this is something I have enjoyed in Mercs and Audis, but I have to say you soon get use to using an analogue dial.

  2. The ML system is also poor.

Based on my experience I would go for a high-end component speaker in the front, a sub in the boot, and a high quality amp (such as Hertz, JL Audio). If your budget allows it, go for some high end components in the rear also.

See my previous thread regarding aftermarket speaker upgrades.

I have a JL Audio 4 channel amp, JL sub and Hertz component speakers. The clarity, depth of bass, sharp top end and sound ima imaging are greatly improved.

  3. So I have had my local car audio company specify a suitable upgrade as follows:

    JL Audio XD 400/4 Amp

Hertz ESK 165L 2 way front component speakers

    JL Audio CP Sub/Amp

Audison SLi2 (High to Low converter)

It was recommended not to change the rear door speakers as it was not worth the extra cost.

My car is booked in for next Saturday, so updates will follow after this.

As this is a company lease car I explained that any modifications must be reversible. They explained that the majority of their work is on lease cars these days and that everything (apart from the sub box in the boot) will be hidden with minimal mods and completely reversible. They were currently working on two new Merc lease cars.

  4. Can anybody help with regards to my DAB as I am unable to receive a DAB signal?

Overall I am vey happy with my car. However, the navigation is taking some getting use to. I find it very clunky, especially when you have selected your destination and then you have to press/move the controller in what seems like a thousand directions before you can start navigation.

The little things I like are the cable tidy from the arm rest, the nice location on the centre console for my Iphone, the feel of the indicator stalk and the little pieces fitted to the side of the seats to stop me from dropping my pen into that deep and dark place where no mans hands have every fitted.

My previous car was a Mercedes CLA AMG Sport C220, the Lexus is more refined and comfortable to drive.

  5. Yesterday, I received delivery of my new company car, a Lexus IS 300h Executive Edition in Sonic Titanium. I managed to spend a short amount of time adjusting to the vehicle and today I plan to drive over 300 miles, good quality time together.

One thing I was not expecting as I do not think it was mentioned in the brochure, my car has folding mirrors.

These Hybrid things are becoming common as muck!
