40+ views and no one wants to take a stab at it?

Ok on about 3 times now i am driving and i am about to stop at a light and the car cuts off. I put it on park and start it again and it starts and no problem anymore. I recall this happening one time before my starter died? Is this the sympton again or is this something having to do with the fuel?

just use a shorting link at the connection point or further up the harness if the terminals are not any good.

Ok, let me clarify. The light never came ON before changing the pad... Even with the brake pad touching the rotors it never came ON. After changing the pads, it did. He even showed me the sensor and the black padded thing around where the wiring thing was open but the wire was NOT cut, i repeat not cut. The pads in question are the REAR pads. I really careless about this sensors since i always check my brake pads every know and then. I just want the lights off without having to replaces these sensors.

the "sensor" is built into the brake pad - as u had your brakes replaced yesterday i suggest taking it back to the place that did it and get them sort it out - did they just forget to plug the lead from the pad back in?

No the lead is there but i think when the brake pad worn out it opened the circuit. I gues what i need to know is if i joined the two wires together will that turn of the light or is there a fuse i can disconnect not to have that anoying light.

How can i turn off that light without replacing the sensor... I really dont want to the dealer ship to rape me if you know what i mean.

So splicing and joining the wires will get rid of the light?

cuz i had my brakes replaced yesterday and the light came on...Very anoying.

Yep, it sure was the starter.... now this morning i notice my AC instead of blowing hot air just doesn't.... it was so cold this morning i need some hot air... can someone tell me whats wrong now :(

BTW guys, it was indeed the Starter... Local mechanic lexus dude took one look/hear at it and wala said it was the starter. Cost me about $350 to get it installed and i also helped in doing this job...sob took us almost 4hrs to do...damn lexus, why do they have to install the starter all the way down there!!!!

What are some of the signs that you have a bad fuel pump?

GreyBeard, nop that didn't work... The thing is the car will start after about 1-2mins of me turning on/off the key... could this be a BAD fuel pump?

kool i have a spare jumper cable... Now you mean i should connect the jumper cable to the negative side of the Battery and attach the other end to the body of the car and then start it ?

have you tried for an ordianry earth fault? i would use one jump lead (jump lead as in very heavy duty that you would use to start one car from another battery) and go from the negative terminal on the battery to a good earth point on the block. then try starting it.

Can you explain this?

hmmmm had the started replaced last summer and now u are telling me it could be that again?

Will the computer reveal this cuz i am taking it in 2morrow if i can start it to have them hook it up to the computer?

All i here is the a wine... One other thing i forgot to mention was the fuel filer has never been changed and if any of you recall i asked the question as to how does one go about changing it. I hope to attempt that tonight!

Ok lately i have noticed that when ever i try to start my '94 LS 400 in the mornings or when ever it off for more than 4hrs, it won't start. I have to like turn it on and off a couple of times before it starts. Once it starts it is good to go even if i turn it off.

So far i have tested the Battery and it seems fine and even hooked up the jumper cable to my other car this morning it it didn't start....

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I believe i used normal (10-30). My car has 197543 miles...getting close to 200k :) I know i need to replace the fuel filter cause i don't think it was ever replaced by the last person that had it.

How hard is it to change the fuel filter on a 94 LS 400... I located the fuel filter on the left side of the rear tire housed next to the exhaust. BTW over the weekend i changed the oil myself :)

Any update on this topic... I am in the process or replacing mine and looking for a place to get the part(s) cheap from... need help really bad. I dont want to pay the dealer too much money for this part.

Does any one know where in USA (MD) i can find upper control arm kit for my '94 Lexus LS 400. I really do not want to get this from the dealer. They already quoted me $407 each. Mechanic told me i only need the ball joints but lexus dealer sells the whole kit.
